Microphone

Well, i seemto have problems with this microphone
When i was playing, several people told me they can only see my VOIP icon popping up and cant hear me talking

i checked ALL the setting in my control panel, checked options on BF2 itself, on skype my mic works well, like on every other program, only on BF2 it doesnt seem to work

i got Windows 7 64bit
i use a microsoft USB headset
on a sony VAIO laptop

if anyone could help me solve this problem, id be very thankful

what ever button you use for talking press it (in game) for at least 30 seconds. your voip will work again. why you have to do this stupid **** is beyond me, but it does work. good luck.

I got the same problem. except i do not use a USB mic. b ut i think it has something to do with windows 7.

i have not tried holding down the mic button for 30 seconds but i will try that next time

I know you've looked at your settings in control panel, but under the general sound menu, go to the recording tab, and make sure the device you're using is set to the default device. BF2 will only take a signal from the default recording device (or for me it seems to anyway).

*edit* sorry just seen that you've just tried that, might be worth the OP checking though.
