This is the internet military! Clean up your act son! [PR Vent thread no: 3294234242]
When I started playing on the first generations of PR in my twenties there were A LOT of mature people This seem to have changed with the influx of a new generation of idiots with broken voices. The new breed, That likes to scream and screech on VOIP/mumble.
Yeah mumble is great and all but most of the time listening to mumble is like having a bunch of kids sprouting random nonsense down your ear, lots of useless banter. I feel ancient compared to these "kids". Oh and Why transmit you hysterical laughter on VOIP/VENT in the first place? Do you really think that other people need to hear you laughing like a deranged chipmunk? Try laughing without pressing the button, it works too.
It gets old real fast with people goofing off on mumble running around like idiots with their toons, like a bad Gary's Mod movie. Please refrain from doing that, sit still and have your thea and eat your crumpets in silence.
Squads gets filled up with absolute nitwits that ninjas a kit and goes away playing the game like CoD. Oh and I'm when I play SL I do not expect to baby sit people; "you need to stay with the squad meight.." "Stop bunching up" "Cover your arch's" "Call out your targets" etc etc. Most people seem to think that it's the SL's job to play the game for them. But the squad is only as good as the people in it, innit?
Servers seem to be filled with soling idiots snipers sitting in absolute silence (no spotting, no simple "target in X in e11 kp 2"), just trying to be solo l33t and getting kills. Teamwork is very rare, and most people seem to get the real TW experience from the non public scene.
So I would very much agree with the sentiment that there are a lot of bad public servers out there.
Glitchers, teamstackers and the disparate bunch of the aforementioned really do their best to disrupt the flow that is PR and [TEAMWORK]. It's like having a hobby that very frequently gets invaded by fuckwits, that hides behind their internet anonymity.
But yeah it's worth going through all these FW and shitty rounds of PR for the off chance of getting a real good round of PR.

It's a video game, regardless of the target audience. You're going to get people like that.

some people are too lazy to press a button so instead of PTT like the rest of us they set it to voice activated.
Agree with TheComedian, This is why i rarely ever play console games online, and only play like 2 PC games at any given time interval...PR consistently and the rest alternate. Currently it's Omnicide for BF2, a while ago it was NeoTokyo for half life 2.

Just don't play in non TW, nonmumble servers. And you exaggerate a bit about what's going on in Mumble. Yes, I've heard some stupid people talking or making noises, but it's a rare occasion. Don't let that rare occasion spoil your fun (and teamwork potential).

The more experienced you get with a game the easier it is to get frustrated with the noobs.
some players never get the idea about PR and continues to be annoying.
One thing I don't agree on is that laughing people is annoying....after all it is still a game and people are supposed to enjoy it and have fun at the same time and laughing out loud is a social thing to do in a social game.
When people start yelling "SIR YES SIR" and go totally military crazy it freaks me out more than it does when someone laugh's a bit about things happening in the game.
Avoid or report the annoying players, and help the noobs while not going drill sergeant on them....that's how I play.

Dude, I normally play on NwA and Olut.
I gotta be honest here, it's been a looooonngg time since I had someone join my squad to steal a kit and go off on his own... Nor mumble spamming (only a couple of people on the pre-game minutes, mute = done).
And dude, the people wondering off is always gonna happen, but the solution is just ridiculously simple, in fact. First, make sure you make sure everyone in your squad can listen when you make the squad. That gets most bad players out (I kick one person on average on round pre-start due to them not listening to me). Later, I have a simple rule... Wonder off once, "xxxx, I need you with us please". Wonder off twice "xxxx, please stay close, I need your firepower". Third strike "xxxx, please move with us, we need you with us". Fourth strike: kick.
A bad squad (I mean teamwork-wise, not effectiveness-wise, because the best squads can get punned many times in a roll) is normally the consequence of a bad squad leader. Why? Because what makes a bad squad, teamwork-wise, are bad squad members (teamwork-wise). A SL's job is to kick that person, plain simple.
EDIT: Yeah I love fun people. I love when crazy stuff happens with my squad and we all laugh about it. Sure those "military-like players" are good teamworkers but, hey... You can be a joker and follow my orders!

Generalizing all servers as having soloing idiots who don't communicate is a bit blunt. I had a great round on NwA lastnight, working with APC's, Kiowas and other infantry squads. How are you not getting at least one great round every now and then?

I play in NWA using mumble. When I see that are too many F tards, I just play with my clan in a locked sq. Done.

I must say I agree with the poster..
Actually I switch off mumble for the exact same reason too. It's mostly useful for squadleaders anyway as far as I can see.

I agree with the post. Problem is that kids dont know how to communicate online. Either lack of training or experience. If they are willing to learn then I take them under my squad, if they are not willing and are a bunch of atards, then i give them the old fashion boot off the team. Its just a matter of teaching them in my opinion. As a squad leader, the success of the squad is to have everyone do their job in the squad. Correcting them along the way will certainly help them in the long run for the greater good.
Playing Since PR.3
