5870 - i5-750 - 4GB RAM = Less than 30 FPS?

Post by DTKT »

5870 - i5-750 - 4GB RAM

I get less than 30FPS on most maps. Is that standard performance with my system? Settings are maxed but I would have thought that I would have no issue since the game is quite old.

I appreciate any help.

I don't think PR BF2 is being supported with tech support anymore. They simply can't be bothered with telling you to update your drivers, ask you what kind of operating system your running, and have you use tweak guides.com to help you tweak your nvidia control panel.

Guys please state your resolution with such things...

As it is mentioned in many posts by many people (including me) the performance drops pretty much with bigger resolutions.

I run:

hd 5770
phenom II X4
2x2 gb ram
win7 64 bit
1920x1200

settings between medium and high

--> 60+ when I look here and <15 when I look there ;)

Also some maps are just worse than others. Smoke, looking in specific directions on specific maps, GARY and JDAM mushroom, etc. etc. all that has heavy impact on my framerate.
When I had smaller resolution (with exactly same rig) my frames seemed to be locked at 100 :)

In CCC if you have everything maxed out it will probably have a negative impact on your performance, heavily.

I have an HD 5850, 4 Gigs Ram, 3.4GHz processor and at 1080p if I force Super-Sample AA I will have bad FPS. Switch it down to Adaptive Multi-Sample AA and I only get slight problems in heavy overgrowth and smoked areas.

I also keep my Smoothvision HD: AA and Anisotropic Filtering set to "Use Application Settings" mainly because most games will have maybe 3 FPS with them enabled.

Hope this helps.
