Yea, Shija needs to be fixed, just keep it out of the server rotation and use the bug reporting template *Tactical J.F Leush incoming* :D

Edit: I just realized that you are not reporting a bug, FAIL lol

- What server was it?
- Can you describe the route (where the flags were)?
- Does your server have problems with any other maps or avoid playing other maps?
- Does the server play the skirmish mode, and if so are there crashes then too?

Thanks

Server is Reality China server
route?oh yes,all most all flags are in the north of the map(I will post pic later)
skirmish is fine,no server crashing problem, but AASv4 64 does

I agree. Shiji is very laggy. It's horrible. TG Crashed a couple times...

I have noticed that when I've played this map every time i played it it crashes. But friday we got through a complete round. The only difference was the flags were in the south to south west area of the map. Below airfield. Nothing in the North east or North at all. This is the only time i have played with no flag in the North east and the first time the server never crashed. Wish Id taken a screen shot but never expected to run through the map with no crash.

Hope this helps.

Server *NwA*.

Interesting, although I can't figure out why the flag set-up would make it crash or not. On the northern routes when it crashed, did you notice anything similar between those rounds that was different than the round you played on a southern route? Since many of the reports talk about it happening 30+ minutes into the round, I'm wondering if it has something to do with a vehicle that spawns in after 20 minutes being used and triggering the crash (or maybe an alternate weapon on that vehicle). The other possibility is that by 30 minutes or so, each team has built more deployables (such as HMGs, mortars, FOBs, etc.) and it overloads the server. Did the rounds that crash have lots of deployables?

mattnett1: When did this happen??? The TG admins just looked at their server logs and there hasn't been a Shijia Valley crash since September 8. Plus, the admins confirmed that they hardly ever have an issue with Shijia Valley. I just played it last night on TG and no one had lag and we played through the whole thing (btw Orford, we were on a northern route).

Anyway here's the TG server info:

We clearly play kashan/asad/muttrah a lot, but since it was released i try to make sure that shijia is always on the maplist too. I'd say there is nothing wrong with it, numbers don't lie :)
Just so you guys know, I'm NOT trying to dispute that you're having problems... but I AM trying to figure out why there's such a discrepancy between what I'm experiencing on TG and what I'm hearing from some players on other servers.

I hope people are basing their statements on 0.97 Shijia instead of 0.96 Shijia. Lots of optimizations were made to improve performance and get rid of a texture bug that was causing some players to CTD on load.

But if you ARE experiencing consistent problems with 0.97 Shijia, please continue to post that info here so I can try to nail down potential problems.

Thanks :)

I just played a game of Shijia last night and we finished. I think it was TG or H server. The Chinese team was not very good and the British team didn't build very much. Mostly chopper capping. It was a short match though. Route was Uranium, Epicenter, SJ North, SJ South, MooGooPaiPan City (or whatever), and the one next to UK base.

Good job improving it. I can actually play that map with only 2GB of RAM. Though there was very noticeable stutter between various map cells.

Yesterday I played Shijia on the NEW Server(I think the route was the one with the big city in the south+powerplant and bridge) we managed to play through the whole round without crash however as pr0Life mentioned there's a lot of client based lag between map cells which makes flying choppers pretty much impossible for people with 2 GB or less RAM, as far as I know some people can't play the map at all or ctd a lot. I personally didn't notice any improvement in client perfomance since 0.97. There's just too much detail for most ppl's computers to handle, but it's a really great map. If it wouldn't lag that hard then I'm sure it would be played more often.

I've played a round of Shijia Valley yesterday on the *NwA* server.

My findings:

It needs to load a heap load of statics. I am getting FPS lag (<25 FPS, and visual stutters) where as in any other map the lowest I usually get is 40 FPS. PC specs at bottom of post.

Out of the 63 players on the server, at least 10 still had a CTD on load. We've had relatively few CTDs during the actual round as far as I noticed.

Layout was: Uranium Mine, West Bank, East Bank, GB Supply Depot. The map finished without crashing the server.

I've had chopper pilots crashing their birds constantly though, due to their frame rates dropping over certain parts of the map and losing control as a result.

My PC:
CPU: E8400 dual core(overclocked to 4.0GHz)
GPU: GTX260 (overclocked slightly from stock, 896MB VRAM)
PSU: 500W Antec EarthWatts
RAM: 4GB (2x2) OCZ Reaper @1000MHz

Playing PR at full settings.
Resolution 1680*1050
AA: 8x

Coffeshop crashed yesterday while playing Shijia Valley. Layout was the flag South of the bridge, North of the bridge, Mouwan City (?) and Epicenter. Also some kind of factory south of the British main (can't remember the name).

But as Buf showed us, it's not the map that crashes the most (at least not on Tactical Gamer).

Is it possible that it crashes when someone goes through a certain area? A spot that makes the server crash?

Nixy; I've heard that setting down your AA to x4 should help a lot on your FPS, and you won't notice much difference.
