Windows 7 Crashing?

(I am not sure if this is a bug, or an issue with my system, so I placed this in general discussion. Mods please let me know if this is the wrong location.)

I lost my windows partition a few weeks ago and had to reinstall it on my early 2008 MBP. I chose Windows 7 on my reinstall. However, when playing PR I will get about 10minutes into a game and then my game and operating system with hang up. The audio will keep repeating the same quarter second over and over again. So for me now, PR is unplayable. That's a sad thing.

I do not have stock RAM in my machine, but everything else is as it came. I never experienced this problem prior to a month ago, when I was on XP. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.

Update all of your drivers, especially your soundcard by the looks of things, all the manufacturers will have sites where you can download the latest for windows 7

Don't set your laptop on a flat surface without any ventilation. Place something (example a book) on one side. This way there will be air underneath. You can also buy a fan board that you can put the laptop on.

Another thing I know you can do on desktop computers, is control the fan-speed of your graphics card. Not sure if this is possible on laptops.

Firstly, you can download Speedfan to monitor your CPU temperature. Make sure the exhaust vents aren't blocked or clogged up with dust.

This should be moved to support forum where a tech mod can help.

Edit: Sax his graphics card is integrated. It is very likely a cause of CPU overheating or faulty sockets inside the case.

yeah that is defintly the video card or cpu overheating and causing the crash. If its onboard vid card try replacing that first.

It'd be kind of hard to do that, with a Mac Book.
