AFAIK with the "break" of the limit code, some bugs have appeard, such as the tags dissapearing and this one.

This is caused by one stability test which is hammering server.
It will allocate new connections faster than server can decline em.

If the donations bit on Sisu is correct a grand total of 0 from VBF, PR and FH. I know gamers are not a generous bunch but that can't be true can it?

I think it would help to know how much money needs to be donated for the server to be up again. I'm very willing to donate, however not when it is of no use...

This is correct.

Soppa have setted 100e "cap" after this point the donations will be announced. This is per month! (more info here)

Well even the 100e per month is needed to cover some of the fees. I must bolden on this point EVERY SINGLE PENNY IS GOING TO PAY THE SERVER FEES However sisu being a test project and constantly under development there is also more servers running to keep this all happening so that what we wish to get per month (100e) is just cutting the total fees.

To answer the question how much is needed to get the server running. Sisu Server Rent To make small calculation about the prices:
50e per week / 7 days = ~7e per day. (0.056e per slot / day(if 126))
Running one weekend PR event for up to 48H costs you around 21e However this is a thing you need to discus with soppa.

To straith things up: If someone goes and leases the server. The money paid will show up on the donations screen and will therefore also be used as donations. So renting is somewhat wrong word. We just want to offer some more acces to server for the guys whom supported the project.
All donations will be used to cover Sisu hosting costs.
If donations reach 100eur/month it will be announced.

Good example is the Olut cult whom leased the server for couble weeks. They left the server to be admined by the sisu's own admins. Only thing what changed was the name of the server.

the problem is that the server is up only 48hrs a week, why should a player donate money to a server which only appears for a short time and on the weekend especially since many people spend their weekends with friends/family?

128 players is obviously a big bonus which is why this system managed to last so long but eventually people will realise that the money required vs actual playtime just isnt worth it.

i said it before, the 48hr limit for PR is killing the 128 player server. PR had the best gameplay suited for such large numbers but such time limits prevented the idea from being spread across the community and potential donors, now the community has abandoned it and now the server is dead.

to make matters worse, BF3 is around the corner and only the most ardent fans of 128 player gameplay are going to bother going back to support it so there goes all the potential donations from newer players too....

unless you can put 128 players on BF3................

100 euro per month is more than PR has received in donations this month. It's unrealistic. There has to be a cheaper way to realize a hobbyist project, like all the other servers do.

Other server have a very big community to back them up, why not but Sisu can be up only 48h a week (it had a community for half a year but people are getting sick of the time limitations) for PR, thus makes no sense for me to donate for a "vanilla" server.
