What do you want to see in a Realism Mod?

My opinion on respawning:

1 life would not work out well for BF style gameplay. The maps are way too large, there are way too many things to do, and no one would play a huge gigantic map jsut to be killed and have to wait for a long time till the map is over. Living once is the one realistic thing i don't want in this mod, it is too severe.

I would support something like this:

You can only spawn at your main base

Spawn time is between 45 and 60 seconds. Different for some maps maybe, whatever makes gameplay best.

Also, the whole medical idea, where feild medics can just stop your bleeding and treat your shock, but not actually recover your health, where as each main base has medical tables you can enter and very very slowly regain your health.

It can't be totally realistic in every single regard, that wouldn't be any fun at all. Fun = realistic in every regard possible that won't make gameplay suck.

Also, the link to that map is a broken file...and it looks really awesome.... waaah! mirror!

yeah that would be cool, how bout making an real evac chopper that could heal you some till you get to main base?

First, i want to say hello to everybody here.

Second, sorry for my english, cause i usualy speak german.

I've read all 29 pages (two hours!) and there are many good sugestions.

Now mine: (only two)

1. Give the Squad-leader the possibility to shoot Tracerounds,
so he can show his Squad where to shoot, whitout any unrealistic
HUD-arrows or whatever. (This is how at least Swiss Army does it.)

2. If you use a vehicle you have to "get in" first, for example:
To ride in an APC the driver have to open the back door before
you can enter (sit down).

Edit: I have an idea for the Death/Respawn problem:
If really someone "finaly" die, his Team must return his body to the Homebase, so he can be "replaced". (just think what Snipers could do whit this feature)

nice idea thatd absolutely destroy gameplay in a pub server where someone cant be bothered to pick up a base and drag it back youd die once and probably be done for the round

your other two points i think were pretty good tho

ok, stupid idea indeed, and how about a spawnlimit for the whole team and not every Player separate. I think whit a spawnlimit for each Player, many Player who used their lifes early, would just reconnect.

Spawn limit for the whole team is otherwise known as the amount of tickets that team has left...

Ya solo, maybe 2 minutes, maybe different on different maps. The idea is to keep up the right pace in each map, whatever feels right. I seriously think it'd have to be way different in each map, cuz, is downright boring in AA watching the last guy camp the last objective for 5 minutes...

No respawns or timed respawns are no fun for anyone. Remember fun??? I like the idea spoken of earlier. Allow a dude who dies to respawn back at his base. Then he has to get back to the Objectives.

But at least instead of sitting on his *** waiting... he is back ingame being immersed. Better this than have this mod turned into AA... basicly a mil combat equivelent of Rainbow 6. I totally hated the no respawns. The idea that someone thinks cause their is no respawn you play better is lamer.

I always play the same way. No respawns tho is a big reason I stay away from no respawn games. Cause instead of playing, you spend most of your time.... waiting.

I played tons of R6 and R6 3, and AA. And many other mil combat games. No respawns had absolutely no impact on HOW I played. But what I did discover is that I hated waiting=no respawns.

I hope there is an option for no respawns AND respawns. This way dudes who feel no respawns is more fun for them can play the way they like. But i will stickl to the respawn servers. Better to be ingame humping it back to the BZs, than to be sitting on my *** watching everyone else until the match ends.

No respawns weren't that bad depending on the game and map size. Maps like nuclear powerplant in Rogue Spear got pretty bad though. I hated playing that map if I was amongst the few who lived to the end. It definitely wouldn't fit too well with the typical BF style. Hopefully some kind of compromise can be made.

I'll also add that if respawns aren't server side then they should be made where they're appropiate to the maps style of play and logistical assets in the region. For example a MEU amphibious assault map would give the Marines faster spawns since they've got a whole MEU with supporting naval units at their disposal. The defenders would have a longer time since they're already dug in and likely won't be moving around as much, nor have the freedom to really do so.

id like to see a combination of DC and FH, those are probably the best things to happen to the first bf.

i like how in both games there are class packs around the map, maybe at each teams main base there should be an armory with tons of weapons.

maybe bring back the ability in bfv to change what your character looks like if thats possible.

respawns from barracks buildings or being parachuted in or off of train cars, as opposed to spawning in the middle of the grounds of the base.

Now that we've all tried the demo, are there any plans to include the ability to swim underwater in the mod? I remember from Joint Operations that it was very cool to dive away from a hovering chopper above having only 10 seconds before the air was out...

I tried searching the forums for this so apologies if it is already mentioned.

Since this is a reality mod, it would be nice if there were female models/voices. Female models that were realistic and not horribly Barbie proportioned misogynist stuff.

Most modern countries have a large number of female soldiers, who are invaluable and usually not given enough credit. It is also proven that Women are more likely to stay and defend/look after people that they care about than men, who react more in the typical fight or flight manner.

Anyways just a suggestion, keep up the great work!

i think the issue of inclusing female soldiers was mentioned in some thread or another but the last time i saw it there was no specific yes or no answer to that. the way i see it is if women are serving their countries in reality, as they are, they should be included in the mod as well.

It would be cool if a personâ$™s total physics would be implemented. Different weight types, Speed, Agility and muscle contractions.
