ASSAULT ON EAST POINT

I started the round as a German, but seeing the US side fail over and over again, I decided to switch teams and try to help them out - they needed something to keep the motivation high!

I went commander, took an appriopriate kit and yelled at Mumble to take LCVPs with a driver and a gunner (nothing more if possible) and gather at the east side of the map (M12), to perform one big assault on East Point (loosely based on Pointe du Hoc).

A very nice thing to see EVERYONE listening. Think we all realized the only way to win this war was to work together. And so we did!

More and more LCVPs gathered on the east side, waiting for further orders. I told the squad leaders our area attack (artillery) was ready to strike and to request it on East Point as soon as we had eyes on the target.

Finally, the moment of truth had arrived. After yelling "GOOO" over Mumble, all LCVPs started their engines and headed up north, towards East Point. Soon after, the sounds of incoming rounds, explosions all around us (truly epic to be honest!). MG fire coming from the top of the cliffs, accompanied by PAK-rounds. We returned fire from the LCVP MGs, hopefully suppressing the enemy PAKs. The noise of gunfire was terrible!!! (so good :D )

One of the SLs requested artillery and of course I approved. Shells were raining down on East Point - such a beauty! The first men landed at the beach, dropped smoke if they made it alive. Most people forgot to bring a specialist kit, so had to get back to the LCVPs to request them (thank goodness I added this feature :p ).

I said earlier I had an appropriate kit. Guys, I hope it boosted your morale :D . My kit was the Bagpiper, playing "Scotland the Brave" during the assault.

The battle went on for another ten minutes before the last man was shot. Perhaps some made it to the top of the cliffs, I got shot and died soon after.. :(

ASSAULT ON ALPHA

Same round, same team. After the fail of East Point, we decided to go for another epic assault. Our target was Alpha this time.

We gathered with at least as many LCVPs as the previous assault around A12. Unfortunately, no area attack was available, but at least this time we would have backup from our mortars. The idea was to drop smoke on the beach, so the enemy couldn't see us very well. As many of you know, you can make all the plans you want, but as soon as the first bullet goes past your head, the only thing you think about is survival...

The entire team was gathered around A12. I gave the team a good "GOOO" through Mumble and again, everybody moved their LCVPs to the north. This landing would be different from the previous, as we had a much bigger beach to cross.

When we were nearing the beaches and the enemy bunkers popped up through the fog, the enemy got us in their sights and opened fire. Not much we could do other than return MG fire and just keep going for the beaches.

I requested mortarsmoke on the beach, but for some reason it didn't work!! Hardware failure? I have no idea why it didn't work out. We were doomed... We landed, opened the ramps and ran out the LCVPs as quickly as we could. Enemy fire all around us, explosions from enemy PAKs taking the lives of many.

Some of us made it to the shingles. Bleeding, but still alive. A lot of patching up there. Little cover, but enough to stay alive for a short while. SMOKE! SMOKE OUT!! We ran towards the cliffs, where the enemy had a harder time spotting us. Or so we thought - the enemy had infantry targeting us, mortars included!

Thank goodness, someone brought a grappling hook! A handful of us climbed up and made it to the first enemy bunker, trenches behind it and not too many enemies for some reason. We managed to take out an AA gun, which was of no use to either side due to the lack of planes - we felt victorious nonetheless :p .

Soon after, all of us got shot but me. I managed to take out two more soldiers, but later on got shot by a German SdKfz 231 :( .

I got to say thx for a awsome evening! It was so damn funny and i got allot of recordning done so i might be making a little movie about it later this week :D

We got to a little over 20 people on each side, yes.

Assault on East Point ended horribly lol, we were trying to grapple up the cliff and then the MGs started on us and they threw grenades down owned almost all of us then the rest were picked off one by one.

Also the vid @ 10:15 - Liek a bawss :D

Oh no, the beaches are only the beginning :p . There's a whole map behind it wherr both forces will struggle capping/defending.

once theres a higher amout of folks I feelt the americans getting past the beach will be more likely
As it was that was painful to watch xD but awesome I will defeintely play this
