About the images in ''Levels'' folder...
I noticed that in PR's levels folder i can watch the overview images of all maps in PNG format. But when i try to open them, i can't. windows picture viewer says, that I have to update it or the file is incompatible and Paint says that file doesn't excist. i've also tried GIMP2 and it says, the file type is not supported. do i need to download a different program, and what? Or do i have to convert the files somhow. Thanks in advance

Right click, and choose to save them as .png. If that doesn't work, you might try to add a ".png" after the name of the picture.

You need to rename them to .dds, then use a dds image viewer to view the images.

dds is a much better compression than .png but this part of the BF2 menu only reads .png so we have done the same thing DICE did, which was to save them as .dds and rename them to .png, which results in a smaller and more optimized file image (ie, uses less ram when loading the map, which if you exceed your PC's ram limit, your PC will CTD on map load) and as such, better all round for everyone, other than people wanted to view these images easily. But to view them easily we have the Map Image Gallery linked above...killonsight95 wrote:it's to piss us off![]()
