Hmm nice. the MEC have the shturm s. idk if the MGS is a dedicated AT vehicle, but there is a stryker variant with a TOW Missle on it.

My question is, would we see any of them?

Possibility? When the 'to-do list' is done, they will as well.

I want to see them in game as well. Having a Stryker company with MGS', standard Infantry carriers and logistics variants would be awesome, was mapping awhile ago with that scenario in mind.

I gotta ask since i see alot of posts on the MGS. what would we do with it. kill tanks? or use it in its actual role of infantry support?

I see LAVs and AAVs and strykers and other IFV/APCs used as armored cars and not troop tranport vehicles or support infantry. the sqds that use them i always see them go out and kill the enemy and 9 times outa 10 they get destroyed by enemy infantry that lay in wait for them.

In PR if it has zoom, its classified as a light tank. The Panther CLV is an 'infantry support vehicle' yet its tenfold more effective as a portable sniper.

Should the MGS be introduced it would serve the same purpose, as it fires HE and AP rounds.

I can see it being used as long range inf support, basically.

I don't know if it would be used against enemies with tanks, because stryker is a tin can with an MG attached ;P

I'd say infantry support would be its primary role. Leave the tank-hunting to the ATGM variant.

The MGS has fire-whilst-moving capability, the ATGM variant doesn't.

In PR that will make the MGS the ultimate light tank, having the ability to kill tanks in a couple of shots and kill anything under that in a single round.

so do modern MBTs but they didnt model that in PR. so chances are if they add the MGS it wont have the ability to fire on the move.

Could you please reiterate/clarify this? Are you saying that MBT's in game shouldn't have the ability to fire on the move like they currently do?

The MGS has that ability for a reason, to continually move and not be a stationary target increasing the chance of being hit. Not adding that functionality to the game would be blatantly unrealistic and defeats the purpose of a fire support vehicle in the first place.

None the less, your question has been answered and this thread is defunct. If you want to continue discussion on the topic of armored vehicles' ability to fire whilst moving, create a new thread.

i meant acurately, Sorry for the confusion.

Modern Battletanks have lazer rangefinders, and fire control computers, and some of them can lock their guns on a target thus making it easier to fire on the move more acurately. this is not modeled in PR and thus harder to fire on the move in the battle tanks in PR.

It can be done, but it is very hard. Especialy when done on rough terrain.

This thread is technically a (re-)suggestion outside of the suggestion forum. I think the original question has been sufficiently answered; the Devs are always working on new vehicles and variants of vehicles and we have MA's providing all required information regarding the equipment and assets of, among others, the US military. If any gameplay discussion regarding the way these vehicles work is wanted, feel free to create a thread here, or the feedback section. For any discussion of the real world Stryker variants (without PR context), please use the military technology section in the off topic area.
