How Did You First Learn About Project Reality?

Back in vBF2 when it was still new, i heard about a realism mod that was upcoming in moddb site.
I used to play Infiltration Mod for the UT99 engine and the forums was talking about this wonderful mod.
I finally started off at PR .3 after seeing the promo video with the tank with better armor, tandem crew, optics on the gun and AT and HEAT round. Those where the days. lol. Its come a long way now from the original promo videos.

Playing BF1942 and then Desert Combat, That turned into ASoldiersWar Tourney and then BF2 released. Got PRMM 0.3 advice from a few old tourney players after getting sick of stats and dolphin divers, many moons ago.

After beeing a 1942 (+ Desert combat of course) and Vietnam veteran for several years I slipped into CoD, DoD and later RO sector of FPS gaming...I've read several times about PR on fileplanet, filefront and whatsoever-gaming-site, but never actually tried it, since I didn't own BF2 back then. In 2009 I bought the complete BF2 collection for 10 euro in my local electronic/HiFi/PC shop and started to play Forgotten Hope 2 since vanilla was kinda lame and didn't suited my type of gaming "needs". Last year (autumn 2010) a friend of mine told me that i should try PR out, since he plays it alot in his free time - I decided to do so and since then I must admit I was never so fascinated by a game before as I've been by PR.

Was playing bf2 when a guy wrote in all chat that he was going to play project reality , then when modb and downloaded it! dont remember what version probably around .6 or .7

I actually cant remember! i have been playing this so long i cant remember if it was my clan that convinced me to buy the game or if i bought it myself and discovered it on my own. i know i bought 2142 and played that because i actually liked it but i cant recall for BF2.

I was reading about BF2 mods and random stuff on the battlefield wiki... Project Reality sounded like something enjoyable for me, so I read more about it on the site and downloaded it.

Played BF2 constantly until I grew sick of it. Just as I was about to throw in the towel, I saw PR was awarded mod of the year and gave it a try. Everything I didn't like about BF2 seemed to be fixed and then some. It made me feel like I had wasted an incredible amount of time on BF2, when what I really wanted was PR. I initially thought PR was new skins and sounds....I was in for a big surprise. Additionally, I soon noticed many familiar faces that had stood out among BF2 players for their skill and teamwork. After winding up in the ban appeals forum at Hardcore's server I actually read the rules and never looked back. Thanks for the years of fun and insomnia. As my wife feels the empty space beside her in our bed, I'm sure she curses your fantastic game.

As For Me i was Looking In MODDB
And I saw the Mods One Of Was Called
Project Reality I Entered When i read about it and Saw the Images & At the time i did'nt Have BF2 Yet
Then i went To Buy it From Our Local Supermarket Then I Installed The Game Then Updated it To the Latest Patch Then I Downloaded PR 2 OF The Files Were long & heavy IT Finished in the evening

exactly this I was getting really bored of vanilla but the good rounds were really good still. happened to read about bf2 mods so tried and loved PR...

I searched on ModDB for good Bf2 mods.
At the first glance on the photo section i thougth omg booooring but then looked at the comments and downloaded it.
Thank god i tried it! Imagine what i would have missed!
