I didn't mean anything negative about the lack of updates... that wasn't what I was getting at. I meant more like pulling people off the other not-so-important projects to focus on PR2 and quitting their day-jobs to take this over as a full-time engagement. On the one hand, it would be slow-going if its a part-time project and all the DEVs have day-jobs and stuff to contend with. On the other hand, if there was money in the budget to offset some of the DEVs day-jobs, they could quit them and focus solely on producing a game, which potentially would speed up production.

Not that I'm offering to throw money at it, I was just curious because I've often thought of starting my own game up, but I always run in to a financial corner that I can't overcome on my own because I have to pay bills and shit like everyone else, and I can't just afford to up and quit my job on a whim to hopefully turn a profit on a game that I might complete on my own in 5 years (even then, probably not) without having a budget to float me by until the game turned a profit and I actually got paid. If I had a budget to float me by or someone was bankrolling the project, then I could take off from work and dedicate myself to the project, which would definitely speed up production, because rent/food/fun is taken care of and I'm not spending 8+ hours a day grinding out a paycheck.

On the other hand, a dedicate team who was making a game for a profit, and didn't sell out to like EA or whatever, could knock a game like this out in 2 or 3 years, and turn a healthy profit, so it would be worth-while at that stage to make it full-time.

I know some games have literally zero budget, and some games have multi-million dollar budgets, I was more just curious as to which end Project Reality 2 would be on. I also know that some game-engine license are absurdly expensive (Unreal) and are prohibitive to the start-up companies or your small-time companies.

If you have a skillset that you believe would be beneficial to PR2, please PM [R-DEV]Masaq. Mas would be the best person to chat to on this.
