Questions not suggestion.
Hi i have a question about several vehicles that should be in the USMC arsenal. Three to be exact! the CH-46 Seaknight, the LCAC, and the AV8B Harrier II jump jet. now i know that some maps are to small for 1 or 2 of these equipment, but the LCAC can be used on all USMC Amphibious landing beach assualt maps. also this would bring the LAV back onto those maps as it would be carried on the LCAC. It would also bring the possibility of the USMC Abrams to be used as it would also be carried to the beach by the LCAC. now from what i read on your suggestions forum about things that have been suggested you says it is hard coded and cant be done. but what i keep hearing from a majority of mod makers in BF2 that it can be done, it just has to be coded like the LAV, so that it can go from water to land. it would also have to be modeled to deflate and the ramps drop to let the vehicles off. that may take some time so im not surprized that it isnt in, but it would bring more realism to the faction that you are using exactly what they use in real life on a amphibious assualt. now the CH-46 Seaknight now ever since i saw the CH-47 Chinook i hoped for the CH-46 to be added for the USMC. now i may get a question asking what the need for the Seaknight would be, and my simple reply would be well if you ask that why not ask that about the Chinook? the Black Hawk does its job and its alot smaller target to hit then the Chinook. so maybe in the future we will see the Seaknight. maybe even see it in PR-V who knows. now onto the HarrierII, A while back i saw a WIP of the Harrier, I dont remember where i saw it at but i saw it. now im not gonna name any names but someone told me you guys just abandoned the Harrier project. well in terms of realism you just abandoned a very big key to USMC CAS(Close Air Support) aircraft as it is used quite often. now i would say current maps are big enough due to its slow speed but i think bigger maps would be much better. now i know you guys try to keep things ballanced. and not make it a one sided fight all the time. but i think a little more faction realism is in need especialy when you have the USMC in your realism mod.
;PS. these are just questions and opinions not suggestions, So Please! dont flame. Thank You.

Re: Questions not suggestion.
Ok to start with, all these questions you could have found the answer from if you did a bit of searching about. Also paragraphs are your friend...
For starters, the LCAC is something that's quite tricky to make, not impossible but tricky. It would also be more sensible to model a LCU rather than a LCAC which dose the same job as a LCAC, apart from it can carry a lot more equipment and can't go on land. An LCU is also more widely used in the USMC.
If you want to see the Harrier ingame, you can always make a map for it

Dunno where you heard that from, the LCAC is possible to make yes, although making the skirt work well would be a bit of an issue but you could still have a working hovercraft ingame, just perhaps with a static skirt or a skirt which is inflated the entire time and moves about, even when no one is using it. But like I said above, it would be a better idea to make a LCU instead.'[RIP wrote:-Chido312;1679961']now from what i read on your suggestions forum about things that have been suggested you says it is hard coded and cant be done. but what i keep hearing from a majority of mod makers in BF2 that it can be done, it just has to be coded like the LAV, so that it can go from water to land.
It would be pointless making the Sea Knight as its being retired and replaced with the MV-22. Again, you could have found this out with a bit of research on the forums.'[RIP wrote:-Chido312;1679961']now the CH-46 Seaknight now ever since i saw the CH-47 Chinook i hoped for the CH-46 to be added for the USMC. now i may get a question asking what the need for the Seaknight would be, and my simple reply would be well if you ask that why not ask that about the Chinook? the Black Hawk does its job and its alot smaller target to hit then the Chinook. so maybe in the future we will see the Seaknight. maybe even see it in PR-V who knows.
I would love you know your source so I could give him a slap... The Harrier GR9 and AV-8B are still in development, the reason why its not ingame is simply because there are no appropriate maps that are large enough for it to be used on currently. And no, even with its "slow speed", its actually very fast, way too fast to be put on a 2km map which is the largest map the USMC have right now. Again, all of this you could have found out with a quick search.'[RIP wrote:-Chido312;1679961']now onto the HarrierII, A while back i saw a WIP of the Harrier, I dont remember where i saw it at but i saw it. now im not gonna name any names but someone told me you guys just abandoned the Harrier project. well in terms of realism you just abandoned a very big key to USMC CAS(Close Air Support) aircraft as it is used quite often. now i would say current maps are big enough due to its slow speed but i think bigger maps would be much better. now i know you guys try to keep things ballanced. and not make it a one sided fight all the time. but i think a little more faction realism is in need especialy when you have the USMC in your realism mod.

I would honestly try to answer them, I just can't see where the questions are. I would prefer you to put them in Numerical or Dot order and space them out.

What about for the PR-V mod then? Also, and i know this may not get a complete answer or i just may get "You dont need to know" or something like that, but Will we be seeing the MV-22 later on the the PR mod?'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino;1679978']It would be pointless making the Sea Knight as its being retired and replaced with the MV-22. Yes you may see a MV-22 in the mod at some point in the future but again, its so big and fast that your only likely to see it on a 4km map that is designed around it with large enough LZs for it as well as having the map balance adjusted for it.
I'm surprised you haven't asked if there will be CH-53D in the mod at some point in the future which is a much better candidate than both the Sea Knight and the MV-22...

Well I was going to ask about it but it slipped my mind, and yes i have used your search function. i got most of the questions I had in mind to ask which was more then just the sea knight, the harrier II, and the LCAC, I got answers for the javelin ATGM, the M-82A1/M-107 .50cal sniper rifles (Anti Material Weapons) and the BMP2 replacing the MEC BMP3 same with the F-18 and F-15.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:If someone made it then ye sure but its not a very necessary addition...

Every time I did a seach for those 3 vehicles, the seach gave me other weapons, and vehicles that I didnt get a straight answers for.

We don't have any USMC maps really set in the past, other than Fallujah.Killer0Monkey wrote:Doesn't that completly contradict everything you just said about the CH-46?
If we hadn't already put all that work into making that Harrier and where now considering it with the knowledge that the GR9 is out of service and the AV-8B will soon be going out of service in the next few years, we probably wouldn't bother to have made it. At the time we made the Harriers, the GR9 was looking to be in service for quite a few more years, 2018 before it was going out and making two vehicles with one is always a big bonus as its only a little extra work for twice (or more in some cases) the output
BUT saying all that, now we have made the Harrier and all it needs is a map and some coding (maps already been in development, and for some years) there is no point just throwing a good piece of work away just because we can't use it on a lot of maps.
If we had a Model of the CH-46, I would easily put it on lots of USMC maps right now without hesitation, but it simply isn't worth all that work for something that isn't going to be in service for very long, nor in for when most PR maps are set arounds anyways.
