CTD with no error message when I deploy in a server.

Post by Karahaut »

When I choose a server, the game just crashed straight to desktop. No error message on windowed or fullscreen. Anybody got any answers to this?

What are your system specs(don't forget RAM speed/type )and what settings ad you trying to run at?.

Also does it happen at the start of map load or at the end?

I use the same settings that I use in Battlefield 2: High at 1024x768 with 2x AA. This happens whenever I try to connect to a server. It just closes the game out with no indication of what happened. I've tried deleting my Battlefield 2 folder in the documents and it just won't work at all.

EDIT: It seems Battlefield 2 is actually doing the same damn thing. Which means this may not have been Project Reality's fault. I'm going to reinstall Battlefield 2 and see if it helps.

Bump, I have the same problem.

It's not a hardware issue, and I haven't downloaded anything new since I had PR. PR has been running fine, until now.

Vista 64bit, ATI 4850, Q9550 quad ~2.8ghz, 6 gigs ram.

Basically I join a server, and after a few seconds my pr just closes, no error message.

Just reinstalled PR after a long break and getting the same problem. I too have a 4850, thinking it may be a driver issue.

it is hardware prob for him since he has 2gb ram, you need at least 3, and for high textures you need 4 or something, im not too sure about that, kara if you lower your setting to low and start it up, see if it crashes if it doesnt, move em up till you get to the threshold if your a graphics person.

DEV, ye i had that problem, complete BF2 reinstall fixed the problem.
There is only one unforgivable lie That is the lie that says, This is the end, you are the conqueror, you have achieved it and now all that remains is to build walls higher and shelter behind them. Now, the lie says, the world is safe.? The Great Khan.

40k is deep like that.

I ran PR with less than 2 GB of RAM with my old computer.

Not hardware related. The textures won't crash him when he is just joining the server. REinstall bf2 mate. It's a pain in the *** i know but it should work. Bf2 has it's quirks.
