Will my PC run PR?(sigh)
Yes i know what you did when you saw the title.
SIGH
But as i have played PR much between years 2008-2010, and then my PC got ill. The PC can be used, but not as a serious Project Reality gaming center. I got a REALLY old laptop from my parents and used it, and couldn't play PR. And now, finally, after over one and ****ing half years of without PR I am buying a new PC. It is a laptop, and beacause it's a new model i have to wait for almost a month that i get it. And i stress a "little" that can i play PR with it.
Yes, i have seen the requirements for the game, and my friends have said that it will work, but i need i need i need i need some more certainty that it will work on my PC (certainty the right word?bad english lol)! So please make me confident that it works, even with the medium/low settings. Or if it doesn't, make me really really sad...
I think it works, here is the specs:
Processor: Intel Core i5-2430M 2.4 GHz (with boost up to 3.0GHz)
4Gb of DDR3-1333 RAM (i can add up to 8Gb of ram)
Graphics card: nVidia GeForce GT 550M 2Gb
So what is the answer?
Im nervous,goddamit im nervous.

Yeah looks like it'll handle it. Hell looks like it might even be able to play BF3.

Re: Will my PC run PR?(sigh)
Haha yes it will run it good, if you boost it to 3.0 GHz you're garanteed to run it at 40FPS + all the time. 4GB is pretty freaking good, an i5? Freaking good stuff.
I don't know about the Gfx card, not expert in laptop. But in overall you might run it better than my desktop computer, and I'm running PR at max graphics with constant 40 FPS +

Haha! Love you guys! I saw people saying in other forums that this will run BF3 with 30+FPS with med settings. It's just me, that im nervous can i play PR because it's the best game ever. Even I know people playing more demanding games than PR with same laptop. So you say it can run it smooth? With normal graphics? (Yes, and the boost thing is really nice, it goes automatically on when the processor is working on its edge!)

Approved!
This can run PR. Main problem with people are that they are not thinking about dedicated GPU in laptop. And your not one of them. This thing is good to go for PR. You might even max out everything.
So tip of the day - want play games on laptop - buy one with dedicated GPU!

Agreed, and as a sidenote, I would generally check this link and pick from the "current" top 100 GPUs if possible, if you want to game on >Low settings in gamesCossack112 wrote:So tip of the day - want play games on laptop - buy one with dedicated GPU!
Mobile Graphics Cards - Benchmark List - Notebookcheck.net Tech
When you get under ~150 on that list, gaming performance really starts to suffer

Re: Will my PC run PR?(sigh)
I have been searching for an answer, or relitive post with no success. I need to know (For my bro's PC) Why all the other graphics in the game are fine, but the FOB,HMG,AA,ECT are all black? Is this a graphics issue on his end? Or is can I tweek his settings (I think they are on default medium)- OR do I need to re-load the mod entirely.
Sorry if this is the wrong place for such a post.... Just tryin to expand the PR community ;D......
So far he really likes the game!
SO OFCOURSE! Just when I get to the point where I feel the need to aask for help.... I found a solution in the forums.....

Re: Will my PC run PR?(sigh)
Yeah that was my first thought too when I started readingsaXoni wrote:The fuck are you talking about?
I used to play PR on Socket 478 Single core Pentium4 2,4ghz with 1gb ddr400 and nVidia 7300gt with 256Mb ram. Now you talk about freakin quad i5 and 4gb of super fast ddr3 along with top notch gpu 550ti and saying "maybe" or probably is funny indeed. You do not need a monster PC to run this, its all on you how you set it up, and maintain it.
Sorry for a slight OT, and to answer the OP yes you will be able to run PR on this perfectly, and if I was you I would get a desktop for gaming not laptop, but that's me.
Cheers

I think he was trying to be funny
and why would he need to go above 4GB
unless he has a windows 7 64bit OS, he does not need to utilize above 4GB
and usually more then 4GB of RAM is not going to improve much of anything unless you are decoding video
or have RAM intensive applications
after hitting the 4GB RAM mark your biggest improvement in performance will be CPU or GPU
