You catch yourself speeding so as to make yourself a harder target for ambushes, and suspecting potholes as possible IED's or mines.

oh yes always. every time i walk down a street now i'm always scanning for buildings with a clear view of my position and can command the entire path i am going down. not paranoid just fun figuring out where i can command a maximum area without my location being too obvious or being too exposed. it's a fine balancing act.

when you start tripping regularly going up stairs or over a curb... I'm not sure if that's really PR or just my new shoes being longer than i'm used to but i have a feeling...

Information in the hands of a critical thinker is invaluable, information alone is simply dangerous.

I was sitting on a train the other day, looking out the window. I then see this small building at the side of tracks, and on that building there's cages mounted all around it - think it's some kind of anti-graffiti fence-cage thing, anyway, the moment I saw that I instantly thought "RPG CAGE!"

You know you've played too much PR when... You see rpg cages on buildings...

You know you've been on the forums too much when you use google, and find out that the USNG system is identical to MGRS and try to find a map like that!

When your playing paintball and :
1) You spend the entire match shouting orders and contact reports at a bunch of strangers and you are the only one doing this.

2) Your spending over 6 pound every 15 minutes on paintballs due to your use of suppresive fire.

3) Someone says they are out of ammo, so you throw a total stranger your spare ammo tube, which doesnt realy register as being a bit odd until the guy shouts back "wow, how many can i have?"

That's pretty much how I've been when trolling the EA BF3 PC forums.

I think its wrong imo. I used to be like that too, but then I had an epiphany. Its a bit like getting into a Nissan Micra and complaining that its nothing like a Ferrari :p .

I look at it more like its a Prius and complaining "Why does it have to be ugly just because its fuel efficient?".

Sometimes the 'its casual' gameplay mechanics are not really justified by that argument. Sometimes its not that 'its casual' its more that 'our target audience is lazy'. God forbid the game makes you work hard for your kicks.

There was a time in gaming when not everything was MW. You could actually play vanilla and have some decent balanced team fun. Day of Defeat Classic is a good example. That game rocked, and it was nilla and it was popular.

Modern games are coloured by the tired boring console mentality that dominates. You don't need to appeal to the masses with everything, but the producers of games, just those of movies, have it in their heads that everything ought to be a blockbuster.

As for too much PR (so that my rant is justified by something on topic):

When your mom asks why there AREN'T the sounds of gunfire emanating from your room.

When you don't understand someone and say "Say again?" in some clear military voice.

I think my friends are used to it, but its definitely a strange turn of phrase for the average person to hear. :D
