Ping spikes and some other issues

Post by Cossack »

Hello guys,

So, 2-3 months ago PR started showing high ping spikes while playing and in server browser.
As I'm from Eastern EU and my ISP is one of the in that region, in normal Germany located server i have 60-80, sometimes 90 ping. But now it the same, but game have spikes like 400 ping. In most intense moment it happens and during the simple game.

I just did clean re-instal of Windows and its still happening, but a lot less. So, I wanted to know if someone have something like that and does someone have fix for this.

About other games - CoH, I had same thing, but I haven't installed it yet.

Anyway - here is my specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo [email protected]
4GB of RAM @800MHz
9600GT 512 MB
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

I will try finding fix by myself, but this is big problem and is something unusual.

Thank you for your help in advance. ;)

have you reset or power cycled your modem, are you using wireless, while downloading does your DL speed fluctuate a lot and such

also are you aware you said nothing that is actually important about the issue

go into command prompt
and do type tracert google.com

keep doing it until it spikes then post the results here

dont post the IPs one of em is your and your IPs, just the line numbers and the pings

dont worry there isnt a man in this world that knows about it, its a dark and mysterious place, where men, brave men venture to have their souls crushed, and them selves be driven to the brinks of insanity. Only but a select chosen few are allowed to pass through the darkness, but they do not emerge unscathed, for the more you take from it, the more it takes from you.

cossack, what router do you use?
tell us manufacturer, model and version/revision.

There are several manufacturers of routers that have a QoS and or DDoS active protection system that mistakenly target VOIP, in game VOIP and things like TS as intrusive, and block them, while they are blocking the VOIP program, ti also causes the entire netowrk traffic to slow down.

So tell us the info on your router and modem and we'll check it against known routers/modems that have this problem.
