correct aside from a few guys (e.g. guys coming off/going on R+R), but we don't make that distinction for helicopters either

true enough. but then like someone else brought up in my thread, that would lead to APC squads being able to build FOBs anywhere and move on. At least without the crate, the APC needs to stay near by for the FOB to be used.[R-DEV]Rudd wrote:correct aside from a few guys (e.g. guys coming off/going on R+R), but we don't make that distinction for helicopters either

I don't like this idea it just caters for the more mentally challenged among us...
Make a 1 or 2man logistics squad problem solved and much more useful than a 1 or 2 man sniper squad.

what about the realism's of driving to your destination drop supplies go back RTB pick up more supplies drive back out to the destination drop more supplies and so on. . . . i dont believe the millitary's of the world yet developed a way how to teleport vehicles behind enemy lines :L
UNLESS THEY ARE INVISIBLE!!

but make sure next time you go back to main you pick up a pack of tampons

i don't agree with this idea but, the armies of the world don't send 32 men to take a city either. this could just be a metaphor for some other guy driving it back.Redamare wrote:what about the realism's of driving to your destination drop supplies go back RTB pick up more supplies drive back out to the destination drop more supplies and so on. . . . i dont believe the millitary's of the world yet developed a way how to teleport vehicles behind enemy lines :L

Dang, you beat me to it! (didn't know APC had 4x ammo boxes, I thought they had only one :S)

Yes, but the APC would have to RTB to re-supply it's crate, taking it away from the action, where as with multiple unsupplyed FOBs the APC can pick and choose where on the battlefield to pick up troops.

Re: Logic Truck RTB/Respawn Option
IMHO this is already ingame:
After 5 minutes the truck spawns back in main.
Sounds fair to me.
You blow it up. Waste your ammunition and cost your team 2 tickets. Because you are too lazy to invest "support" time by driving back. Or because your team sucks with planning ahead and having trucks where they need them.ryan d ale wrote: The idea: You see a truck and you don't want to drive it back to main right, especially if you're in a squad.

Re: Logic Truck RTB/Respawn Option
why not just have it so if it's within 30 meters of an FOB and is unmanned for 10-15 mins it teleports back?

Re: Logic Truck RTB/Respawn Option
If a Logi is only 2 tickets i'll definately blow it up from now on to avoid making one of my squad do the tedious task of driving all the way accross the map when we could be doing something:Bonsai wrote:IMHO this is already ingame:

a) less prone to draw attention to our position
b) actually productive to winning the game, i.e. capping
5mins is probably the time it takes to get back, rearm, and then return to us. Except if we destroy it we won't be giving our position away, boring some guy that has to drive it, and potentially losing even more tickets if he gets ambushed.
Although the Logi is fairly hard to kill.. For a laugh me and another guy used one on Muttrah (as MEC) to build covert FOB's starting at Docks and then linking BACK to MEC lines. We got 5 covert FOBs up (just the two of us), and our team then steamrolled the enemy.
^ It's things like this that show how ludicrous the FOB system is, we just drove through enemy lines with the armoured Logi and then used a crate to build a FOB then moved on to the next one. Then we could drive back through enemy lines impervious to fire and return to do the others.

Re: Logic Truck RTB/Respawn Option
Impressive, but on more open maps you'd be in the line of fire for longer, so might get hit by a LAT or grenadier. Also shame on the enemy not spotting a truck behind thier lines when moving up to the front!Mikemonster wrote: It's things like this that show how ludicrous the FOB system is, we just drove through enemy lines with the armoured Logi and then used a crate to build a FOB then moved on to the next one. Re: Logic Truck RTB/Respawn Option
It's human nature, if you see a truck driving past you fire on it, and then when it goes around the corner you tell your team. But you can't chase it, they are too fast. Inevitably you let it go then, and once it's behind the 'front lines' the driver knows that it's a very slim possiblity they'll be seen.
With two crates the driver/passenger can then build two ninja FOBs, then repeat the whole thing.
On open maps you just drive further away, or the longest route to the intended destination. It's surprisingly easy to avoid fire (and then afterwards avoid detection). On Jabal for instance it's still possible usually to get the MEC truck to the sea, i'd give it a 50/50 chance to be honest.
I don't do this regularly by the way, that Muttrah thing was a one off. But I do believe in building secret FOBs aggressively, the results tend to speak for themselves (The Blue Blob seems to benefit more from respawning quickly and steamrolling the enemy than fighting carefully and ticket friendly).

But I suppose if you gave the APC a crate, and changed tweeked the FOB/asset crate requirements you could reduce the amour on the logi truck a bit as it wouldn't need to be right at the front lines, but still important in makeing and supporting large FOBs with TOW and HMG etc?

Re: Logic Truck RTB/Respawn Option
That's true, only downside would be that currently almost all of the vehicle models are porked with regard to bullet penetration and armour. But it'd be a step forward, definately!
I really think that the Logi truck/logistics side of PR is bloated and with a bit of thought we could find a way around it (freeing up players to actually fight and making the game a war game rather than a logistics game).
So any suggestion with regards to improving the efficiency of building FOB's is good in my opinion!

Re: Logic Truck RTB/Respawn Option
I hide the crates in buildings and then drive the truck into the bay in Muttrah. It respawns in 10 mins and I lose teamwork points aka I will never get my ribbon.
