Will this run PR?

Post by Kieran »

So basically i made a similar thread a while back but am now determined to buy a new PC for gaming in the december sales! So basically, here it is.. Gallant AMD 4100 - Dino PC Ltd

I imagine it's good due to the 8gb ram and 1gb graphics card, however just afew questions..

- I don't expect to be able to play on high but it will be able to play the game with decent graphics at least, right?

- Is it essential that i add a fan to the PC in the customize part?

- Is there likely to be lag when playing through my main TV which is 42" or will i need to buy a whole new monitor?

Thanks for your time and that's all my questions, for now!

It will probably run PR maxed out with 8x AA. What is the resolutoin of your tv? My guess is 1920x1080.

I have no idea as i've thrown out the box it came in, but it would probably be that yeah.. Strange i always thought a larger TV would be more demanding

It all comes down to what resolution you're using. Most 22-50+ inch screens today use the fullHD 1080p resolution.

My biggest concern with that prebuilt computer is the motherboard. It's a pretty old chipset, there are newer alternatives around. Mind you, I recently bought a msi motherboard with the same chipset. If I were you, I would wait for more replies before ordering. I'm not really up to date on computer hardware anymore, I've completely lost the interest.

Im not sure but I think you will b able to play on high even on that resolution. What I see wrong here is maybe PSU. Its quite on the edge so you might want to get at least 550W to be on safe side. Regarding the combination of mobo and cpu consider going intel in this moment ( i5 2500k ) since its much better. Thats what Ive heard from people even though I still have older AMD based pc.

You would be much better off with PhenomII quad 965 or something like Intel i3 560...or if your on budget I would easily recommend even i5 760.I wouldn't buy prebuild PC ever but thats just me :p

Anyways mate...this is what i personaly find as a dealbraker

Elixir (? wut) 1333Mhz RAM...no OC room and if you OC your latency will go too high
PSU 400W - hardly any future upgrades HW wise plus it will barely power the PC as it is
500Gb HDD with 8Mb of cache..seriously Dino.PC?
The case should be fine though as its midi tower

or

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition - Dino PC Ltd

(Micro ATX mind you :mrgreen :)

All that at 520?

Note though that this was kinda quick search...

As of playing on your telly, this PC would more than suffice, another qquestion tho is if you'd feel comfortable playing at distance at such screen :-P
