Realitymod ringtones / message sounds
Realitymod ringtones / message sounds
Out of curiosity i started looking through for past topics of people creating ringtones or message indicating sounds based off project reality. didn't quite find what i was looking for. I am sure there are many ways to create tones for your cellphone and using the project reality start up clip sounds would be a pretty good fit. hearing the project reality static/bell sound or the BBS swoosh sounds would make for a unique tone and good for reality-mod support.
SO. . . .
-Would anyone like to share how the best way for doing something like this would be?
-does any one have this already?
-would you like or not like this idea?
-anything you would like to share is always welcome.

Listen to the words and realize why they didn't like it. If u came to my country with that ringtone, u should call GOD and tell him u are coming.

In plain english. It's more or less about how all islamists are called upon to kill all infidels. Probably described in numerous ways, carbomb, Ied etc.
Could be a bad idea to have as a ringtone, even if it's just for "fun". A song like that could get you stabbed on the subway..

I had Gungula du Chanieya (or however you spell it, mec smoke grenade message) as a text alert. Worked really well. Just a short sound alerting you, you had a text
The way you can do it is really easy. All the music and sound effects are stored in the folders of Project Reality or BF2. You just need to unzip some files (make sure you copy them to a different location so the original ZIP is still there) and you can pick what ever sound you like.
Use a free audio program like Audacity to adjust volume or cut out stuff you don't want and save as an .mp3 or .wav. Transfer to phone and your Good to go!

This ^ it's really easy! Hah, think I might even put some effects as ringtones too, usually I don't bother changing them at all.cyberzomby wrote:I had Gungula du Chanieya (or however you spell it, mec smoke grenade message) as a text alert. I had the "Help" commo-rose for China as text message-tone a couple of years back. Got a couple of strange looks when I received a text while being in class.

Audicity is the easiest and most mature software to create ringtones.
Unzip the PR sound files AND EXPORT THEM TO A FOLDER OUTSIDE OF THE BF2 INSTALLATION.
*^^Don't come crying to me if you skip this step and Punkbuster pulls out the banhammer on you.

Using the bomb car music for a ringtone in the United States is one of the stupidest things you could ever do. That will get you detained and questioned in the NYC area on the spot.
If you intend to use the songs included in the game as a ringtone, you could be so kind as to buy the song from Scott Tobin, the composer/producer of the RealityMod Official Soundtrack... Scott Tobin | Project Reality Original Soundtrack v0.9 | CD Baby

Re: Realitymod ringtones / message sounds
I'm so gonna use that SHASHKA!!! russian smoke call for text messages now. Thanks for posting this thread, wouldn't have thought of doing it otherwise.
Edit: Sadly it looks like my service provider has blocked off the ability to use your own ringtones on my phone. They must be purchased from them before they'll work. I can play it in the music player, but not set it as a tone. As if the crazy amounts of money we pay for the service wasn't enough they gotta milk people for petty **** like ringtones? Screw you Mr Rogers!

What phone are you using? As far as I thought my phone (iPhone) was the only brand who couldn't set up custom text alert tones.I can set up call tones but no other tones than that
Good to know I'm not the only one if you have a different phone.
