Seeding-bots on servers?

I stumbled upon this today on the 26MEU server: .

I was quite surprised as I saw these also yesterday and the day before. It looks like they are seeding-bots to keep their server "alive", as in populated. Are server admins allowed to do this? I've never seen anything like this in other servers and I'm not sure about bots on non-coop servers.

Personally I dont like it, but its not against the server license agreement.

If server wants to do it its their call, but usually people realize this as soon as they join the server.

Yes, that's why those "DH-Player" bots are st*pid...

DH-Player is not a bot..well generally it can be called like that because its a seeding bot ( but differs from bf2 AI cause they dont actually play at all just sit there dead ) and as you can see some are paying for that service which I cant really understand. Once you join a server or look at server info you will see that there are no players on it.
Its not illegal and not against license, its a choice of some people, nothing else.

Sorry gentlemen, there was a miscommunication between admins, we were planning to run the seeder bots on our co-op servers, but they were accidentally placed on the all the deployment servers. We are taking them off currently as we speak, Sorry for the inconvenience and we apologize to the PR community and this will never happen again.

I've been running the RW server for over a year now and no on has ever mentioned anything about these DH players. I see nothing wrong with them, but they are discontinued as long as the server stays on the Deployment side. However, there were great to have while on the COOP side to boost the server a bit.

I see no point with them. Are you doing it to lure people into joining your server because it looks populated?

Yes, it was mainly used on the COOP server. Most ranked BF2 servers use them, they do help by putting your server up higher on the list. It's only meant to be noticed first.
