Hello everyone,
I got a new (but still old) computer and installed BF2 and updated it to 1.5 patch. I then downloaded PR .973 but whenever I try to start it up, the initial logo of PR is displayed but then afte a while it just closes. Can someone please help.
Thanks.
Comp Specs:
Core 2 Duo E7400 @ 2.8ghz
6gb DDR2 Ram

Re: PR wont start up
Start BF2 first and log in to your account, then close BF2 and start PR. If that doesn't help try deleting the video.con file.

Im guessing your running Windows Vista or 7. (Like anyone else these days).
Use the tip above. Otherwise Right Click on your PR shortcut and go to properties. then in the destination. you add -w (screensize "Wide") -h (screensize "hight")
So example:

Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" -w 1440 -h 900-

Only when you log in to vanilla BF2 does it create a user map in /my documents. PR needs this but it can't make one itself. Just login into BF2 once and PR should be fine.

Re: PR wont start up
All of the above and edit your settings and join vanilla BF2 server so it can optimize shaders. After that close BF2 and run PR. If you dont do this you are risking corrupted or no objects at all. ( black or some other color assets, weapons etc.. )
If BF2 wont start at all then you did something wrong - reinstall
