Don't bother learning them, just know the difference between a tank and an APC and let your guys figure it out. On some maps there are a couple of types of enemy APC, just say what they're armed with (the important bit).
I.e. on Muttrah, say 30mm [cannon] APC, or grenade launcher APC, or machine gun APC.
Other than that there are machine gun jeeps like the HMWVV (Humvee), just call it a technical ('techie' for short).
And there are transport helos or CAS (Close Air Support) Helos, that's all you need to know about them.
Also, Rhino, bit of confusion on the jets there mate. To be picky the A-10 is a CAS jet, the Tornado is an Attack jet, and the 'fighter-bombers' are the F-16 and it's opponents ('multirole' in real life terms) i.e. Eurofighter.

Re: Names of Vehicles
Stuff like this, ie a list of all vehicles, would be perfect for the wiki. What did happen to that project? There's not even a sticky about it anymore.

Re: Names of Vehicles
There are so many names for different aircraft types and most aircraft can have loads of different names titles to them. If you look at many sources you will find little to no consistency to the naming.Mikemonster wrote:Also, Rhino, bit of confusion on the jets there mate. The A-10 is in fact a "ground-attack aircraft" which we just call attack jets for short. It is also yes classified as a "CAS aircraft", but it can't just be that role otherwise the name would suggest it is only be able to be able to bomb targets near friendlies and not be able to take out a lone tank in the middle of the desert
The Tornado GR4/IDS is known as a multi-role fighter, a fighter-bomber, a strike fighter etc...
The F-16, EF2000 etc are known as multi-role fighters, fighter jets, strike fighters, air superiority fighters, interceptors etc.
Yes each name has its own unique meaning but they are stretched over so many aircraft types they have almost lost all meaning now
This is why for PR we have simplified it into three main aircraft types, which I've listed above which depend very much on the aircraft type and armament ingame.
The Fighters are mainly fighters, although do have bombs on them so yes, you could call them multi-role fighters but its just longer to say, fighter is clear enough. Attack Jets do ground attack, while yes there main role in r/l is CAS, which it is ingame, its not limited to that and are equipped with limited AA weapons for defence. Fighter-Bombers are capable of performing both tasks equally well, but are no where near as good as a fighter in the fighter role, or the attack jets in the ground attack role (although with a good crew they are arguably better).
I did it all from the top of my head ok!ShockUnitBlack wrote:Rhino, why u no list truck types?![]()

AA MTLB is Gopher but AA BRDM is Gaskin.dtacs wrote:Both the AA BRDM and AA MTLB are reffered to as the Gopher (Gopher being the Anti Air system mounted on them).
The AT MTLB is the Shturm.
