Aside from the no server thing, which I understand there is a workaround (which I have no idea how to do, becuase my steam directory isn't showing up, (not that I know what that is)
How do I install map packs/ maps?
I'm trying to do the Karez offensive, but I am unsure of how to do it...
also... I often get heartbeats stopped working, although sometimes I don't.
All help would be appreciated!!

You need to know where your Battlefield 2 root game folder is or I cant help a lot to you. Have you tried in Program Files? If its 64bit system then C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\usernamehere\Battlefield 2\
PR mod should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\usernamehere\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\
As for map pack, just start the installer as administrator and it should auto detect pr folder, and if not guide it to your root Battlefield 2 directory.
As for heartbeats and PB problems, download and run pbsvc.exe and check if everything is right. Reboot after that.
