[Help] Creating Factions

Im trying to make a new faction for the omnicide mod for bf2. I wanted to start it by using the MEC faction as my template and I retexed them and followed what they did in this forum post: How Do You Change/create New Factions? - Official BF Editor Forums - Page 2
After all of that work I tried to load a map with my faction on it and the game crashed without error message.
I would appreciate some help, im a bit stuck here
Thanks in advance!

EDIT: it crashes for all maps, even the ones without my custom faction.

Did you run in windowed mode? If not, you should. Only in windowed mode will you get errormessages.

Did you mess with the faction_inits? I've done this before it turns out I just misspelled something. I would go through and see if any is misspelled. Hope that helps.

Moreover, if no error msg is shown in windowed mode, you could try debugger:

Mmmh :confused: , crashing without errormessage?!

U created some kits for ur faction too?
Crashes without errormessage mostly occurring, if u created a new kit and added 2 weapons or else, that have the same ItemIndex (weaponslot).

Or maybe AI

in faction_inits.zip
He created an faction (i think he mean TEAM) for omnicide and not a faction for the PR mod.
Vanilla haven't a faction_init.zip.

If you're modding the omnicide mod there is no faction_inits.zip.

Also, more information would be useful. Like when it crashes, when loading (%?) or pressing "join game".
Also excaclty what did you change?

I couldnt tell you what I changed all together. The initial crash is solved.

the faction is labeled "spz"
Now in game I can spawn and everything but I have no player model or animations. I can shoot and move.

If you replaced the US team with the "spz" there might be some conflicts with the python script. Try to replace the zombie team with the "spz" and see if you can see your weapon and soldier.
