[SOLVED] Start Up Issue with steam

Post by Cowboy1211 »

I recently downloaded the full client .97 all three parts. Upon start up none of my maps are available in co-op or any other game mode, also when i go to create local the game crashes. I am running BF2 off the Steam engine and when clicking the shortcut the system gives me an error message stating that it cannot start the BF2 process. Furthermore I believe my shortcuts are correct but when the game actually starts up it gives me the update shortcut prompt. could running BF2 with steam be the reason for all the problems? Please need help ASAP.

Re-install BF2 on steam and then Project Reality would be my suggestion. You may have a corrupt install. As for the error message , it can sometimes be fixed by just hitting OK or restarting your computer.

Steam is normally not the issue, so it must be something else.

Moving to the support forum, the techs will take a look at this soon.

Edit: Jeez, guys, let me post after moving for a second :p

BF2 runs normally when I'm just running the game itself specs are as follows:

OS: Vista SP2
Ram: 3.00 GB
Processor: DUO CPU 2.20GHz
ST: 32 bit system

Im not sure what the system error is it hasnt come up again but I still cant figure out why my maps are not showing up and I hope I can fix it without waiting another 2 hours to redownload everything.

from what it looks like it could be a corrupted install
