'[R-COM wrote:BloodyDeed;1722343']At least for NwA I know they have some routing problems lately.
I recommend you contact NwA Orford or NwA Vandal.
Routing??? yeah, I always had problems with my rooter, but never in TACtical gamer or NWA servers :S... Ok thanks man... Ill try to contact them ;)

Nah I'm talking about router issues. I'm talking about global routings between countries etc.
You couldnt do anything to fix it...that should be fixed soon.

The issue we had was with UK users to our server hosted in Germany mainly Virgin media customers. Some players in the Netherlands have also reported issues. A ticket is open with our provider we are expecting a response soon.

Try running a tracert to our server ip in my sig, do it to the IP not including the port. From the command prompt (windows start menu type cmd in the search box click the command icon) type tracert "ourip" press enter. This will show the routing to our server. Look for hops with high pings.

Also if you have reinstalled the game did you run the PB update. The problems you have could be a symptom of out of date PB. Or due to us resetting the MD5 checks make sure you haven't got any modded BF2 or PR .con files. Google manual update of PB for BF2. You should download a program called pbsec.exe.

In the mean time post here your full in-game name and I'll check the logs to see if the server issued the kick.

Hope this helps.

I'm having what seems to be the same issue with NwA among others.

I've tried
1) Forwarding all ports listed for vanilla BF2 as well as designating my client computer in DMZ while trying to join.
2) Following the instructions BloodyDeed posted on page 2 of this thread, and deleting the pbans.dat file before launching PR
3) Reinstalling PR and BF2 from a clean slate in a fresh directory.
4) Using the PB update tool provided by evenbalance

The disconnection occurs after the client has finished synchronizing with the server, I receive about one second's worth of text, sound effects, and visual data behind the map. After that moment of successful communication between the client and server, the client hangs with the message "There is a problem with your connection." and I'm dropped back to the deployment/server selection screen, with a message box displaying "Your connection to the server has been lost."

Win7 64
8GB DDR2
GTX 460 Drivers updated, DX11
AMD quad (Phenom II I think) at 3.0ghz

The tracert to NwA server 1 didn't return any abnormal pings for the distance. I can successfully connect to the HOG 24/7 Muttrah and Tacticalgamer's server, which are both on the same port of 16567. The other servers I've noted to not be able to connect to is CIA's "Kokan" server, and the 26MEU Manhattan Killhouse

Hope this helps find a solution.

Edit; new observation. PnkBstrB is a squirly service that won't stay running, is it critical?
Edit 2; Got PnkBsterB to stay running by creating a batch file that manually installs the service and runs it, then launches the PR shortcut, and by constantly monitoring both the local services in the mmc and the task manager processes tab. Seems reasonably stable. Did some more poking around and PnkBstrK wasn't in either of the system32 or systemWOW64 drivers folders like the evenbalance site was suggesting. I moved a copy from C:\Users\Loluser\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\BF2\pb into both system32\drivers and systemWOW64\drivers. Neither of these things helped, and the servers are still dropping me a second into the connection. New server that drops the connection added above. I've enabled PB logging, and will try to generate some info.
Edit 3; I can't get the logs to generate at all on BF2 or PR, but they generate great on BF3, I'm now starting to suspect that PB might not be at the root cause of this problem.

Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

Hm, im from Portugal so I guess that the problem affects my Country players too :S . Ok m8, when you have news post here, ill keep trying to connect 1\2 times a day also ;)

WHen i write ourip it tells me that the command is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file :S... when i put tracert "ourip" it says unable to resolve target system name ourip.

No I always had the game installed and PB is fine...
Well, i had 82 .con files in the BF2\PR folder XD , i erased them all.

My in-game full name is NewBornpt ...

Thanks man ;)

Got punkbuster logging (The instructions I was using were wrong, the .cfg need to go in the Program Files\BF2\pb folder, not the appdata\local\Punkbuster tree) and it doesn't register any problems.
Log wrote:[01.21.2012 10:21:18] PunkBuster Client (v2.241 | A1392) Enabled
[01.21.2012 10:21:19] Connected to Server 88.198.66.19:16577
[01.21.2012 10:23:08] PnkBstrB service installed and started successfully
[01.21.2012 10:23:18] WARNING: PB Kicks for Name Spamming and Non-standard Characters and Level 2 PB Restrictions on this Server
[01.21.2012 10:23:18] PB Server assigned guid = up yours!
[01.21.2012 10:23:18] Receiving from PB Server (w v1.800 | A1392 C2.241)
I was disconnected at 10:23:19ish, but the log doesn't register a reason, not even a "Player Disconnected"

However, I have solved the connection problems to the CIA and 26MEU servers. *Knock on wood and cross fingers* If I can still connect tonight, I'll post the solution, if it reverts to dropping me, I'll know it didn't work.

I have deleted your forum account, There wasnt any issues with it but we though better if you start fresh.

The ourip was in quotes and as mentioned in the post use the ip from the server banner in my sig. ie replace "ourip" for the ip in the sig. :d uh:

tracert 88.198.66.19

The .con folders should be there and I didnt say delete them. They are the settings files that PB checks to make sure you havent modded them. If you had modded them then you would of known what i ment, deleting them will and has nerfed you PR setup and you will have to reinstall.

Can you both PM me your full in-game names and i`ll check the server PB logs. Until then the routing issue is ongoing.

Matt552, you need to edit out your GUID bad people can do bad things with that. Thanks for trying to find the issue.

Thanks for the advice, I forgot about that. I'm trying periodically to join NwA, no success, but I left them pinging while I was away, out of 800 1 byte ping requests, I had 0% packetloss, so I'm not sure where else to look.

Edit! Problem identified, for me at least. https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f370-p ... ayers.html bypassing my router worked great. Bring on the malware :S

Ok, I had just enough time to try again, and my earlier solution didn't work. For those of you googling this in the future, I had noticed that randomly, the pbsec.htm file in the battlefield 2\pb directory was being deleted and not being refreshed, which according to Evenbalance, are needed to allow PB to update itself automatically.

There was a new post that opened a new line of questioning into this that I will investigate when I have time. The answer that it has to do with some sort of data routing or some sort of other data bandwidth related problem could explain the random successes, then subsequent failures, I've had, as I wasn't looking at all at how many players were on the server.

Its most probably your router messing with some ports. If it has integrated firewall just disable it or go here and use this port list as a guide to setup bf2 port forward properly.

I only found a screenshot of your router firewall page.

Good, spent 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon checking every log for both servers for you trying to connect. Pb_alias .pb_exceptions, chat logs also show PB connection info. Find function get a hammering. Although I did learn a few things and next time it will only take me 5 mins. ;-)

Happy to help.
