[Solved] Weird movement lag ( stuttering )

Post by grimsilence »

Hi, I just downloaded Project Reality for Battlefield 2 and it is awesome. It is so realistic! My only problem is that there is a weird movement lag, preventing me from being in firefights. When I move, my screen stops for 1 second, then my gun moves side to side really fast like I am fast forwarding. It gets really annoying, then I die, and can't backup my team mates, then i get kicked from my squad. What can I do? Please help me I love PR! :cussing: :cussing:

You can start by posting the same post in the "PR:BF2 Support" section. There's a lot more help to get there, as that's where all the nerds are ;)

Hi and welcome to forums.

This problem is with your hardware. As i can see you are playing on a notebook PC from Emachines. These PCs are quite weak to be able to play any games on it. Speaking of graphic card, here and relevant to other system specs, and OS used on it.
Card name: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
DAC type: Internal
Device Key: Enum\PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A42&SUBSYS_02121025&REV_09
Display Memory: 1308 MB
Dedicated Memory: 64 MB
Shared Memory: 1244 MB
Current Mode: 1366 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)
This one tells me that your graphic card has 64Mb of dedicated RAM and its able to use up to 1308Mb of shared RAM. Meaning it will use 1308Mb or system RAM, and you have 3072Mb in total.

This is simply not sufficient to be able to play games properly.

Can you play vBF2 at all? Do you have same problems with it, and do you play any other games on this notebook and how do they perform?

BF2 is fine. I have played counter strike source, team fortress 2, half life 2 and oblivion on this computer, so I do not know what is going on.

Quite surprising you are able to play all of those fine. But those are source games, and they are not much demanding. PR is made on old BF2 engine, and is quite pushed to its limits, and this is increasing demands on system resources. Have you tried lowering graphic setting in PR? Also check this thread out, as problem is quite the same as yours.

Just follow the discussion we had in that thread, and do everything as instructed there. If that wont help, I'm afraid nothing will.

And dont make double posts please. This one will be moved to support when mods come. I deleted one in support you made after.

After installing PR, defrag the hard drive you installed the game to.
It's a marginal gpu to play PR, you are going to need to experiment with video settings in PR's option menus, and the amount of RAM allocated to shared VRAM either in the BIOS or a Windows Control Panel option, to find something that works for you.
