The server is running in 128p mode now to test how well Outlawz map plays with that many players.

wow, we had some awesome 128p saaremaa rounds today. expspecially agemmans intersquadplay was great.
but: he doesn't like to smalltalk in the heat of battle about weather i noticed :)

NEW - my PR home planet :)

No seriously, I play there a lot (about 80% of the time) and there is always a lot of fun to have and good games to be played! I enjoy most of the player-base, the admin-staff and the performance of the server. Heavenly connection around 20-40 ms ping, sometimes even a bit better. Peak-time would be sth. between 3 pm and 11 pm PRT.

BUT the one thing that you guys really have to work on is the choice of maps.
Often enough the server dies completely somewhere around 10 pm - 1 am cause of the worst choice you could imagine.
I know people who are around at these times do know what I am talking about!

50 players left, 35 voting/stating their opinion for sth. small, 10 voting for sth. medium, 5 not giving a s**t - you can be sure Kashan will be next - Server dead!

The absence of admins around these time is almost never a problem (besides map changing etc.) as most of the people playing there are capable of not turning into a bunch of retards once no admin is online.

The same is with your general deal with map-votes. You post two options, people vote and what do they get? Sth. completely different...Come on, we as Germans, we have to show the rest of the world that we indeed learned to live with a democratic system :)

To any non-German hopping on there:
Please not be offended when another SL talks to you in German for the first 5 minutes when you take over or join a squad :) but instead tell him to speak in English and (wait another minute to) recieve the translated message! Most of the regular SLs on NEW usually transmit in English but as you can imagine it feels kinda silly to talk English to a fellow German (especially when you know each other). So there is always a bit of a mix - in local as in chat. But my general impression is that most people (at least try to) speak in English as long as a non-German hears it and needs to understand it (contact reports etc.)

First I wanna thank you alot for your feedback Kilo.
I always like when people give constructive criticism, that's the only way we can improve.

We were discussing the issues with the map votes and map choices on our last monthly meeting but it looks like it wasn't that effective.
I completely agree with you that in PR some maps on certain times just won't work. Our admins should know that and are advised to keep that in mind.

Anyway I will bring this issue up again and I'm pretty sure we will find a solution. It's something we all agree that shouldn't happen and to be honest shouldn't be that hard to fix.

Kilo, I absolutely understand your opinion on our mapchanges.
Lets me show you how I see it as an Admin:
-First someone after 5min(!) into the game (we always change the nextmap, but this happens everytime) :
"!shownext
....can we change nextmap?"
someone else agrees: "yeah mapXYZ sucks, please change it"
another one: "yeah lets play kashan/muttrah"
and the suggestions start...

We - the Admins of NEW - mostly ensure the players that we will change the map and we will have a vote. Until now everything is fine.

When we feel like the round is pretty much over we talk about the nextmap in our TS3 channel. "Maybe some Insurgency?" "Something with Jets?" "Lets play a small map!" etc.
So often we decide to have a vote between a big AAS map and Insurgency/small AAS map. e.g. Kashan vs Fallujah, Silent vs Fools Road, Iron vs Ghosttrain

Now here comes the problem, on a fullserver 62p normally 10-12player actually vote. And often these player leave at the ending of the map anyway. But democratic as we Germans are, Kilo :twisted: , we set the map with the most votes.
e.g. Kashan wins 8-4 against Fallujah

OK map is over, after Kashan loaded I see that there are just 25p left. So we tried to make everything right but we kinda failed.

So here's the kicker: We need you guys to vote and to tell us what you want to play

So Kilo, we are aware of the problem and let me ensure you we really work on this.

Thank you for your honest and good feedback, we're happy to have player who really want to improve our server.

The biggest problem I have with the server is the assetrule. First come, first serve only promotes unorganised assets and does nothing to promate teamplay.

... atleast in your opinion.

that this isn't the case in gerneral, you can see on our server - it is working fine.

It's not working fine, really. Usually when I am on NEW and there is a map with a lot of heavy assets, like Kashan, the assets are all spread out over the map.
The rule greatly reduces whining, yes, which is a good thing. But I don't think this outweighs the negative impact it has on teanwork and organisation.

I see the same Problem on other Servers as well.

You can go Commander and change that. We got the Rule to follow Commander Orders.
Or at least trying being a good and responsible Squad Leader.

i regular play on NEW server and can tell theres no big problem with the assets. the playerbase seems weighted well regarding the preferences for assets/infantry and uses teamwork. even on kashan.

The quality of the admining constantly went down in the last couple of weeks. A few situations with admins being really sulky and at least the maprotation/played maps start sucking more and more as many maps are played way too often.

Sorry, but it's not the same server that it's been before.

Hi mate,

first of all thanks for your feedback!

I for myself, and i think everybody of [NEW], is trying to keep the ingame experience as high as possible, but that for i need some facts, not just "admins are bad", better would be "admins are bad because yesterday they didnt listen to reports..." ect.

- That would help us alot getting some points we can work on, to solve this matter.
Finally it would help everybody on our server.
