Re: Should i join a MilSim clan?
I would say that it (as usual) depends on your interests. If simulating military structures, organisation and behaviour is worth your time, then go milsim. If you just want coordinated teamwork and gameplay, then go for an usual clan. Though training might be needed for better coordination, many clans do not train, just play.
A good idea is to look for a clan which has different groups or departments depending on how much time you can spend and how much you get involved or committed. Not many clans offer such divisions but just demand the same from all members.
(Side note: F|H (http://www.forgottenhonor.com) Invictus had this good idea to split the clan in members (dedicated players) and fans (casual players). Unfortunately they are based in Europe and therefore have only a few US/CAN members (East Coast). - I don't play PR so I'm not in their clan.)

You as in me or most people?MaxBoZ wrote:Most of the time you play more in a more loose clan, even with teamwork.
MilSim dosen't have to be extreme prep like most A2 MilSims, me and my guys don't spend 5 hours planning either we're usually just messing around having fun. Till something walks in front of us with the wrong clothing/camo. Then it's GAME FACE TIME.

No because I've been in one and you let the leaders control you. If you want other people to control every action you do within the clan, be my guest.

So... you're telling me you've been in every clan possible both past, present and future? What was that experience like?USMC scout sniper wrote:No because I've been in one and you let the leaders control you. If you want other people to control every action you do within the clan, be my guest.
However, on topic. I think the question has been answered since the OP hasn't posted in some time and got the answer's he was looking for.

You don't need to be in every single clan to form an opinion on the type of clan you've been with. The obvious base of a MilSim clan projects the fact that the leaders of the clan have or should have very tight control over you. That's why it's MilSim. Like having to salute your superiors in game, on forums etc.SGT.Ice wrote:So... you're telling me you've been in every clan possible both past, present and future? What was that experience like?

Re: Should i join a MilSim clan?
To me milsim means the appropriation of real world tactics into the PR space, which in my eyes is not a good fit. BF2
R is still a "game" (far from a sim) and often quite "gamey" tactics are the most effective tactics. Milsim PR clans seem to me like you have started off with an idea for a clan before even deciding on the game you want to play.
Obviously that might seem ludicrous to someone outside these forums when we already expect people to be able to follow SLs orders, keep squads together, suppress targets etc. But there is a certain point when copying real world tactics becomes more of an obstacle to success than anything else.
Just my 0.02

I also concur, that about sums up my thoughts on said subject.Web_cole wrote:To me milsim means the appropriation of real world tactics into the PR space, which in my eyes is not a good fit. Epic epic.... There might be milsim clans but can't act like it army. E.g. if theres rank of captain, captain is leading company ...? and inside is 80–225 men.. hey, theres no enough space in PR on both sides...
Hence, PR milsim clan should have lieutenant as highest ranked guy, if u find it, u found milsim & realism clan for PR...
Any rank above, scratch *** ,turn around and go away... unless their ranks have other meaning......

Extremely Agreed. I literally laugh at milsim guys in Project Reality.Web_cole wrote:To me milsim means the appropriation of real world tactics into the PR space, which in my eyes is not a good fit.
