Thank you everyone for the accurate historic recreation of D-Day, intense, messy and relentless. A landing has never looked so pretty, GG and fun event.
Absolutely relentless covering fire from the US boats at some of those landings. Intense stuff! Very cool to see so many boats and people storming the beach too. Good game overall.
Storming the beach with like 30 boats was one of the most epic and intense moments I've ever had in the history of PR.
Great stuff, absolutely loved it.
Thanks to all who organized/planned this event and to all players participating.
Except the time after the first round when nobody knew what was going on and admins playing around (letting people fly etc). A clear command was needed...
Most of my time was spent looking at the sea and hearing everyone else having a good fight. Fortunately there was the time when the US attacked East Point. I had Mikedude reporting loads of boats just outside the viewdistance. I confirmed it and the SL comms went to hell. I literally had almost all SLs talking to me at the same time asking if they were needed. Combined with Wicca screaming at me. Fun as hell there. Since my guys were pretty much set up I just told them to start fire upon the damn boats. Which we did. I manned an MG and shot quite a few people.
At some point we had like 10-15 americans climbing a rope only to be hit by mortars/bomb/grenade. Then the yanks got up and we had to wade through mortars to recapture the whole place. At some point I heard the bagpipe and ordered my guys to kill that damn thing. Which we did. We also found the kit afterwards.
Conclusion? At least one assault against us + capture of the bagpipe = awesomeness.
