[?] Adding jets to muttrah

I was wondering if I am hosting a local server and my friends connect thru hamachi how can i add it to where I can spawn Jets from US army for the USMC to fly on Muttrah.

So basically what files do I need to move and do they need to move as well? obviously you need to move them back to play online.

Well you would need to edit your GPO.con in:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels\muttrah_city_2\server.zip\GameModes\gpm_cq\64\GamePlayObjects.con


In that you would need to change some of the hueys to jets.

But I'm not sure how successful a jet would be on Muttrah, I'm not even sure if one could take off from the Carrier.

I am "pretty sure" that only you need to change them, since it's only a server-side change. But someone more knowledgeable should comment first.

Your freinds will also need to change their files too. Make sure that it's exactly right though or it will CTD on loading for them, might be easiest to just send them the file.

Now every time my friend try to connect it crashes after half is loaded

You also need to repack the map IIRC. What you are changing is the client files. What you need to be changing is the server files for it to be a SS mod. You will also have to change the out of bounds area so that you can actually fly it. In other words. To much work for not enough gain. IMO.

If you want a map to train on with jets I would use the Test Airfield map that Rhino created.

If the host has got some stuff different than the client, it sometimes can work. However adding a new objectspawner would crash it I think, changing an already existing objectspawner could work however if you are adding a vehicle that isn't already on the map, then the client will crash because it hasn't been told to load that vehicle's client data (textures, meshes etc)

you can basically copy and paste from other .con's you just need to email or guide your buddy to the exact same spot as you pasted or send them the server zip. Man it took a lot of trial and ctd to figure it had to be exact.

Lol yeah, the harrier might be the only one able to make it, and he said he would be using US Army jets. Think A10, F16, etc.

OK Doubters, I have taken off with the A-10, Mec "FROG", F16 and the M1A2 Tank. Well the tank didn't make it to land but you can if you start where the Hueys spawn you can make it off essex....Now landing is not so good.

Anyone know the command for spawning a crate that you can pull kits from and ammo that wont explode like at a Main?

rcon spawner pr_supply_crate_us. Don't know if it will explode or not, has not happend to me thou. If it does just spawn a new one.

The command should be:

rcon spawner fixed_supply_crate_"team"

The one avskum posted is indeed a crate that gets depleted after a while...but as he said, you can always spawn more of them :)
