If there were tools for BF3, it'd probably the same way we did PR:Arma 2, have a separate team work on it.pupo162 wrote:Devs, if hipothetically, PR:Arma didnt exist yet, and Bf3 had the smae mod tools BF2 has, wich of the 2 engines would you choose to use today? wich of the 2 engines do you think has a better potential and better suits PR needs?

Re: Ask the [Dev]'s a (?)
I guess we all busy enough with our own real life tasks and I'm pretty sure not everyone would be willing to do their daily jobs and than over weekends or evenings keep on developing a free game or mod(s)...
Many of You DEV's has been modding since past year 2000 and my guess it takes quite improvising and sacrafice ( like time etc..) so my question is really;
What keeps you guys going? Where you get all the motivation to spare your free time for something past your usual duty and for free?
Cheers

one would thing that the donations barely cover stuff as it is, oh well good for you XD
Do you guys work closely with each other or is it like you put bits and pieces together when they done?
I mean you do all your work from home or..?
I have no slightest idea how it done or how it works

This is a good question. For me, as long as people are playing it that motivates me to work on stuff for free in my free time. Besides that, it's just doing something I like to do (making 3D models etc.) and actually being able to put it in a game, and the experience gained from doing that.Beee8190 wrote:What keeps you guys going? Is there going to be a possibilty to use "CQB" sights (probably isn't the proper term) in the near future? Such as the "emergency battle sight" found on the ELCAN scope?

We all work from home, though there have been some examples of members of the team coming together IRL, f.e. recording sounds of British vehicles and a few conventions, though those are social gatherings rather than work trips.Beee8190 wrote:Do you guys work closely with each other or is it like you put bits and pieces together when they done?

Depending on the skillsets of people work has to be divided over several teammembers. If you're able to create a model and texture it but aren't able to put it ingame you'll need someone who can animate the weapon, and people to export and code it so that you can actually use it ingame. This way things usually go through the hands of several people before they're done, as few people are able to do all of the things required to finish and implement an asset.

No Muttrah v3 planned... If you look around the forums you will see that I've mentioned Muttrah v2.5 a few times (ie, an updated version of the current Muttrah v2) but when/if that will ever get done I don't know.Doc.Pock wrote:1. Re: Ask the [Dev]'s a (?)
1. Would any DEV's be willing to hold a training course as such on certain subjects such as texturing, animation etc?
2. Do you see PRS becoming a true reality in the manner of becomming a rather famous studio and possibly employing DEV's in the next few years?
3. What are your fav alcoholic drinks?
4. What first made you want to *insert relative task here* and what was your first breakthrough.
5. are you a brony?
6. did I ask to many questions?
7. If there was one message you'd like to get out to the community about either yourself, your job as a DEV or just a few tips on how to get onto the road to becomming a DEV?
Pick any questions you would like
;1730937']Why you so grumpy?
What makes you think I'm grumpy?
Seriously who cares about the amount of starts a thread has.
Usually no one does. But when a person rates his own thread 5 stars, it's like liking your own status on Facebook... It's retarded.
