I think a lot of the issues in PR:A2 are player based. Namely people never play and don't know wtf they're doing.
There's only 1 way to change that...

Good job lads once again

Re: Project Reality: ARMA 2 0.15 BETA Update
That looks like a rendering bug, and it looks like its coming from the Air Craft Hanger. Most likely due to something to do with your video card drivers. I have come across this kind of thing before, mostly on ATI video cards that are running software shaders that are optimized for Nvidia cards.
Its certainly not something that we could fix, and often its not down to the game developers either. Frequently it is something that video card manufacturers have to deal with in new driver sets.
Try tweaking your post processing settings in the advanced video settings tab, and see what settings you get it happening with and which without.

Nice one. Looking forward to this!
I read throught the change list and this caught my eye:
Added: vehicle respawn times increased, if sides unbalanced
Added: player respawn times increased, if sides unbalanced
What are we talking about here exactly? How is the unbalance defined? By player count, ratio of tickets, owned flags, etc?
Cheers!

I had that glitch too over our FOB. Never had that bug before PR although I have played the game for more than two years.'[R-DEV wrote:Twisted Helix;1731394']That looks like a rendering bug, and it looks like its coming from the Air Craft Hanger. Your video doesn't show the same glitch. You can clearly see there that it is a hardware or driver problem. But in PR you see this when you look in a special direction, for example when you look at FOB.

Re: Project Reality: ARMA 2 0.15 BETA Update
The glitch doesnt happen just at the hanger, it happens in all areas of the map.
Some say its a FOB problem, I dont know but another ARMA
R Dev quoted its WIP.
This glitch does not happen in either ARMA2, OA or BAF... Just PR
I have messed around with all my settings in PR and doesnt seem to do anything and its not just me with this problem as other people have made threads about. :/

Just go in the direction of the glitch to find what causes it. I think it could be a FOB on fire, so was it when I looked at it.

By player number per side. If your side has more players you will have longer respawn time than opposing side. This is releated to:Hablos wrote: ...

Re: Project Reality: ARMA 2 0.15 BETA Update
In PR its the same thing. Its a hardware driver glitch. It might be something to do with the way the shadow LOD is working on a FOB if it is a consistent problem with the FOBs, however the underlying reason is the same ... its some kind of issue with the shaders running on the video card. If everyone experienced it then it would be a glitch from the model, but it seems to be only some people that get it, so its something to do with an issue on some cards.ontaiwolf wrote: Your video doesn't show the same glitch. If its any consolation ... I have never experienced it
There are a couple topics on the BIS forums might help ...
NVIDIA video card(s) owners read here!!
graphics bugs with ATI 4800 series (4850/4870/4890)
Looking at the video more ... it seems quite similar to issues that you get when you are using stencil shadows, and the mesh for an object has not been closed. It might be that some object is not using a correct shadow setting as I was pretty sure that the Arma 2 engine uses shadow volumes and maps these days. However if it were using stencil shadows on an unclosed mesh, then everyone would experience it .... so ... tricky ...
Some better videos would be good, that ones a bit dark and you move past the problem areas very fast.

I have the same card and as you know I have the problem[R-DEV]Twisted Helix wrote: If its any consolation ... I have never experienced it. I'm running on a GTX 580 (1.5 gig GRAM) and very high post processing.
I will check out them links you provided to try help but I very much doubt that they will help.

Re: Project Reality: ARMA 2 0.15 BETA Update
There is an issue that seems linked to the 'bunker' forward outpost (the one with the mound of dirt and the sandbags). Seems to cause a graphic glitch sometimes, and normally only when it's been destroyed. We have not pinned this bug down, so it is not fixed. Happens to me from time to time on my NVidia GTX 560Ti.Mad-Mike wrote:This glitch does not happen in either ARMA2, OA or BAF... Just PR
As well as changing the vehicle and player respawn times for uneven teams, we also have variable respawn for vehicles based on total number of players. So, a mission like Eagle Claw (AAS - Large) will not have the Apache until there are 40 players on the server.Hablos wrote:Nice one. Looking forward to this!

Re: Project Reality: ARMA 2 0.15 BETA Update
It's not. Hardware is fine. I had the glitches which you can see in your video when my GPU was overheating in the past (old GPU, now I have another one) or when I overclocked it. But this is for sure not a hardware glitch. Otherwise you would see it everywhere. See also...[R-DEV]Twisted Helix wrote:In PR its the same thing. Its a hardware driver glitch.

By the way Arma had a similiar bug already, the cause for the glitch was a rabbit that you can see hopping everywhere. Maybe you can ask BIS how they fixed it.
From the beta log
[Resolved] Flashing rendering artifact[82928]Fixed: Occasional visual artifacts caused by rabbit animation interpolation since 79670 (thanks to Sniperwolf572 and F2k Sel for finding the repro).

Rabbits have been replaced by chickens. We have a preference for chickens. And goats.
We are looking at the graphic issue, but haven't resolved it yet.
