I will address the shovel:

It works the same way as the wrench, despite the animation. If you want to build properly, keep the mouse button held down (as you would with the wrench), and keep right next to the object. Don't click for each digging animation.

The myth regarding faster digging is false. You will dig the same rate regardless of stance.

Nope but im constantly following both teams in game trying to figure out why gameplay doesnt work the way its supposed to, for example why in insurgency blufor doesnt always attack, is it because of lack of assets or what, so when im insurgent seeing that entire insurgent team is defending at caches yet still blufor doesnt attack for half an hour, i think "im going to give them 100 hummers to make them attack".

I think it might be that if you start building while prone, and then you stand up, there is short moment when you cant use the shovel after standing up, and during that moment the FOB might collapse.. so switching stance slows it down at least.

Are you ever going to make Wicca a DEV?

If yes: Are you guys out of your freaking minds?

I heard that the map "Sangin" is going to have an Apache and a Harrier on the BuFor side.

What are you going to give to Insurgents to balance it?

Is it true that markers force down deployable objects? Or a myth?
That is, if I want to make a FOB in a tight corner, will my precisely placed build marker help the FOB fall down from sky in a more predictable manner?

dtacs wrote:Yamalia and Silent Eagle both have parachute spawns for the infantry at the beginning. It is impossible to have a realistic airborne force dropping mid-game as it would require a transport aircraft which is too large for PR's scale.

On many 4km's 100% team paradrops are possible, but not practical when there are so many transport vehicles and assets spawning at the main base.
In Yamalia or Silent Eagle, could I spawn my whole squad, get in a chopper then go up enough and jump out and use the parachutes? If yes I need to try it out one time on Silent Eagle (since it's more played than Yamalia)

Same problem here. Looks like the code source has died, or the servers are empty.

I can't say for sure, but I'd say it's a myth.

I really wish they would just publish the source for it so someone can fix it/host it more reliably...

Yes, if you only use the kits on the spawn screen or Pilot kits. All request kits don't have the parachute.

My question is, Since we have a 4km USMC amphibious map could we see the use of the LCAC in the future? same with the CH-53 and AV8B Harrier II?

Chido:

The LCAC has been repeatedly suggested, and attempted; however, complications exist which make full implementation difficult in the BF2 engine; additionally, you only really see the LCAC employed in a "safe zone", I.E. after troops have secured the amphibious landing zone.

I cannot comment on the CH-53.

The USMC AV-8B Harrier II is being worked on. A version of it exists in the current PR build, and you can find it on Rhino's Test Airfield downloadable map; however, its flight physics are far from final as currently implemented.
