How about a night-mission? Maybe half urban, half natural

Just such as this little island at the Bf2 Addon "Special Forces"? I think that would be fucking nice. So that also infantry had night vision. Maybe that map could be half urban, half natural. Or they just "turn off the light" at some already existing maps? In Arma 2 are some night mission, why don't they just "copy" them and make the same in PR for BF?

what do you think about that? do you also have your own vision? what does it look like?

First of all, you should probably wait until you have enough posts to post in the suggestions section.

Also, this has been suggested many times before, apparantly night vision has some problems on certain computers, so it was removed.

And, you cannot just "copy" a mission from Arma to BF2.

Also night maps dont work well in BF2 engine...

Side note, if your after a night map, there is Tad Sae, and an Operation Marlin Inf mode.

Been experimenting with night time on the map im building, half urban half natural like you said, watch this space (it looks horrible, looks like im lightmapping manualy if i want it to look nice).

Its incredibly difficult to create a decent night map in the BF2 engine, it only works in ArmA 2 because that engine was built to do it.

But Night-Vision is awesome, even without it, night map is still awesome.

map suggestions usually ends with " here's the tutorials..good luck and have fun", meaning do it yourself. Post the concept in community map section and you'll get feedback. NO ONE will start workin' for a 1+ year just because you've asked

I still don't get why it worked so well in vanilla BF2: special forces and people say it doesn't work at all in PR. Sure the night version of Bi Ming had it flaws but it still worked. Although it was dark as hell :D ...

Also an isurgent nigh map would be awesome but bluefor should only have light vehicles IMO...

true night maps in PR are currently a no-no due to issues with the night shaders

its not that the PR team hates nightmaps or anything, its just right now it won't work properly

maybe in the future we can use a modified version of the thermal shaders (remove the thermal, add fake HDR lights with a colour overlay or something) but until then its kinda not gonna happen imo. Keep working on your maps, but I recommend keeping them as not-too-dark for now. (like Silent eagle)

Just 2 days ago I thought about suggesting an all night map event, but after some talking I realized that we don't have enough maps to make it happen (supposedly due to bugs, CTDs and other issues in previously altered maps). It's a shame really.

It would never work mate, o course we would all like to see it done just so we can expereince it, but the BF2 engine would not run it very well at all.

Nice idea though.
