New computer (needs larger case now)

Hey guys! This is a continuation of the Cooling adventure.

I ended up getting an H100, thinking it would be more reliable and more likely to fit in the machine. After determining that the radiator had a physical conflict with the motherboard power supply, it was determined that what I actually need is a bigger case.

I'm allocating 250 bucks with some wiggle room (including return benefit for the current case, which is an Elite 430 Black) to get a larger case. I'm looking at Cooler Master and Corsair for options; right now my assessment is that Corsair gives me an easier install for the H100, while the Cooler Master gives me better airflow and better premium. Recommendations?

The Corsairs, like the Obsidian line, are made for the H100.

The H100 isn't any more reliable than the H80, they use the same parts.

No idea about a certain case but one thing that is very important to me is that the case has some kind of dust stopping netting. Even if you get water cooling, you will usually still need airflow to cool secondary components. After making sure my new case has good filtering I could cut my necessary quarterly dedusting to once a year (with some vacuuming the filter mats from the outside every once in a while).

I just wanted to point out that Corsair cases are very ugly. They might be superb in terms of functionaliy but tbh Obsidian line has only one full towwer case on product page, and it ugliest case I ever saw. As a plus its quite pricey. 299$ for it is not what he wants.

Ive found a topic on overclock.net about compatibility of H80 and 100 cooling systems with various cases. Take a stroll to it, and see if you can find something nice.

the ones I posted would be good since they have dust casing, look nice and aesthetic and most importantly cost very few ammount of money compared to other large cases in their class

I'm going to gun for the Phantom case, as I can verify it's ability to install a H100 cooler with stock fans; I don't really need to upgrade from stock since I'm not going crazy on overclock, and it certainly seems to have motherboard clearance. There's also a store relatively close (Fry's Electronics) that has the case. I'll move the included 200mm fan to the door vent. Will the included case fans and the H100 be enough to cool the case where CPU and GPU are both running within or just above spec?

As a "has never custom-built a rig before" individual, what should I keep in mind when finishing and running this thing?

yes

but keep in mind though I believe the NZXT case can only accept their own fans for the case

as for cooling yes it will be more than enough for cooling

and when you build it make sure you connect everything properly because that part is slightly confusing at times

First make sure H100 is working properly and there are no leaks.

Gather all the material needed, you dont want to miss something once you start assembling.

If you're close to Fry's that might not be the problem.

Very true. Mine booted for about 3 seconds then would shut down when I finished the build. Turned out to be something as dumb as not making sure the Molex plug for the CPU cooler was properly seated.

Make sure to use the motherboard spacers too. I can't tell you how many times Ive had people bring me a custom built pc where there were no spacers and it shorted out the motherboard.
