made yesterday. going to work on it today more
foodback please

I assume you'll be making your own texture sheet for this? If so you really need to just make those screws as part of the texture... they're ridiculously high poly compared to the rest of the modelDoc.Pock wrote:

hehe, the Ninja Rhino strikes again!Psyrus wrote:Edit: Bah, beaten by Rhino on all counts.![]()

Probably not a good idea tbh. Its at the end of the day, just a sign and really not worth a entirely new texture sheet for, however small. The only new bit you really need is a "For Sale" texture. Other than that, you can most likely find the textures you need.Doc.Pock wrote:Yeah prolly my own texture sheet
Not sure its really needed myself, I think just a post in the ground would look better.Doc.Pock wrote:psyrus that thingy is there to support it some its made of concrete
One thing to consider about it being generic, is languages. Can't be used on a Chinese map if the sing is in English, Russian, Arabic etc.Doc.Pock wrote:im makin it generic but more in this style to be used in idk suburban maps.
lolz. Its possible yes, but its just a sign and I really don't think its worth going into that for thisDoc.Pock wrote:oh and one more (?):
is it possible to make an animated stativ and make it play its animation via trigger in editor?
i know. was taking pics of stone walls and beaches and stuff last summer...[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:Lolz
Stuff I work off from what's around me in r/l I still take photos of so I can look at my refs on my second monitor etc, although people do look at you in a very strange way when your taking photos of really odd things, and even stranger when you star taking photos of walls and the floors for textures![]()
ok thnx'[R-DEV wrote:Rhino;1738756']

I would recommend doing the same sort of thing as I did for this Aus sign here, using up the empty space on the vBF2 signs palette for the new text and anything else you really need, note posts #14, #16 and #20: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f206-a ... ost1014305
will see about it but for less work prolly gunna delete[R-DEV]Rhino wrote: Not sure its really needed myself, I think just a post in the ground would look better.
hehe yeah. diffrent versions like sign and sign_ar and sign_ru, etc.?[R-DEV]Rhino wrote: One thing to consider about it being generic, is languages. Can't be used on a Chinese map if the sing is in English, Russian, Arabic etc.
not for this was thinking of something else[R-DEV]Rhino wrote: lolz. Its possible yes, but its just a sign and I really don't think its worth going into that for this![]()

Ye, it is quite poly heavy but the main reason why I didn't suggest it is because its very inflexible for other maps usage if your trying to make a generic object.Shovel wrote:Some of the BF2 signs create the lettering with geometry, and then fill the letters with a generic color and the background with a different color.
