I remember the good old days when .87 was around and project reality was at its full potential, i literally played pr the moment i waked up to when i went to sleep XD. Project reality was the best mod ever created in my opinion just because of the teamwork it brought along, no other mod or game will ever top that. So my point is RIP PR you will never be forgotten and im sure im not the only one who feels this way.
Well let's say the era after Battlefield 2 release, 2005/2006/2007 PR had everything active all the time , the gameplay were superb, obviously. Along these years the consoles and the call of duty games have been taking place, and also Bad Company and BF3 in the later years. What Iv'e noticed "offcourse" after all these years is that everytime a new huge expected military game comes out PR looses some players and also some fun gameplay on the way while actually PR as a game have become better and better, the dedication of the developers is incredible.
Now, take me as an example! The last time I played PR was maybe 6 months ago, I stopped playing, why? Simply because, as mentioned above, the new military games took all the players away, now, even if some servers were full in PR it was never the same. The fun and the motivation was gone, now the servers only exists of Clan members wich is lame and other players who are there are there so the clan members can have something to shoot at. Sad but true, isn't it! But the main reason really is that it's getting old, really. The game is fun! But it's not really cool walking around in that engine anymore. If you imagen if PR would be realeased to BF3 right now it would be extremely awsome wouldn't it? That's how PR once was, after BF2 release, it was fresh and new. PR will maybe not die but PR BF2! Will definetly slowly die. I give it 2 years, and it's done.
I just want to add and say that it's not necessarily sad or anything, PR is basically a game idea that could stay alive on paper, the game idea has a huge popularity and could work anytime anyday. All it needs is a new place in the new generation. I would say Arma PR is a pretty good move, but not really a strong one. Pr works best to promote iteselfs as a mod when something is new and fresh!
