Various Questions

Post by TAW_Doedel »

Just wondering if you guys have made even a partial Kit/Vehicle list for the enjoyment of your fans.

Also, I was wondering what factions you would be developing, (ie US, Chinese, British etc), and what sorts of "personalities" they'd have -- ie, will you keep the MEC having state-of-the-art Russian weapons or make them more of an Insurgency faction with lots of tripmines, bombs, RPG's and AK-47's and few, if any, non-civilian vehicles?

Do you plan on locking vehicles so that a Chinese infantryman can not hop into an M1 Abrams or an F-15? I hope so.

Just a couple of Q's..

That last point, although would change the original gameplay a lot, is interesting, and WOULD fit into the theme of the mod.

Yes, we DEFINITELY will be locking out complex vehicles like MBTs, IFVs, air defense vehicles and aircraft.

Will you be locking MBTs and IFV driver seats and Air vehicle pilot seats to a Pilot/Tanker class only? Is that possible?

no list as yet but some of the vehicles/weapons that will be in the mod are shown in the media gallery. (look on the front page of the forums).

IRT solodude, yes it would definetely suck to just simply remove the nametags. vehicles have to be locked, uniforms should be different enough to be able to distinguish them from a distance, you should be able to tell apart enemy and friendly weapons by their sounds, and there should be nametags ON the uniforms so you could see who the guy next to you is. of course i don't know if it's doable but that's my ultimate realism on this matter.

Green shirted Iraqi with AK vs American soldier in Desert Camo in bright light on bright backgrounds....

not hard there...

I think closer camo might make the problem of freindly fire actually a problem, like when you play AA for the first time and think the native forces helping you are enemies (....heh...), makes you think before you shoot.

Still, I have my Q, will there be a pilot class and a tanker class, where only the pilot can enter the pilot or copilot seat of an aircraft, and only the tanker class can operate a tank or IFV?

I think it should be that way (pilots are the only ones to fly, tankers to tank) because in real life youre not going to have an average soldier hop into a cobra or f-15

Yes, there will be AFV Crewman and Aviator (fixed wing and helicopter) kits on appropriate maps.

i think thats the best way to go about it

what will the pilots be armed with? obviously no machine guns or anything but ive seen on some documentaries that pilots (at least in choppers) carry m4s as well as MP5s also i think loading them up with smoke grenades or maybe flares would be cool so they could set up a rescue 8)

Will in my opinion, friendly fire is a part of war. Teamwork and co-ordination, ie USING THE VOIP! Would limit it. And I'm assuming the greater draw distance would help show details even from far away. That, and, as far as I know, real-world Chinese and American and British uniforms are rather different.
