Game crashes at map change

my games is crashing everytime the server switches maps, I have re downloaded the map pack thinking that would fix it but it still crashes. any ideas?

Is it only when the server changes to a map from the map-pack, or every single map?

Also, next time you need help, post it in the "PR:BF2 Support"-section.

Then the map-pack isn't the issue here. I recommend you re-install PR, that should do it.

the issue is still occurring, even after reinstall

system specs are Dell XPS 720, Intel core 2, 500gb HD, Nvidia 8800gtx, 4gb RAM

What OS do you use? XP, Vista, 7, 8?
Is it the 32 or 64 bit version?

You can try to increase the size of your pagefile.
Change the size of virtual memory (Page file size) in Vista | Windows Reference
I guess you could go all the way up to custom set pagefile size to minimum and maximum of 3072 Mb .

You are up against the physical limits with your 3GB of RAM, it's essential to shutdown anything like skype, AIM, windowscamera programs, cell phone sync programs, etc in the background to try to free up RAM.
