[Vehicle] Hilux with ZPU-4 [Concept]

Post by ZondaX15 »

G'day Gents.

Seeing as how the insurgents/taliban don't have a purpose built anti aircraft vehicle, I thought I'd through this idea out into the pool.

A quick hacking at the technical and ZPU-4 gave me this quick render.

The blue is all the original technical
The orange is the original ZPU
and lastly, the green was the basic frame I had to make to make the gun higher than the cab.

Enjoy :)

You've read the thread about this idea obviously,

maybe remove that base "denoted in green", and allow the gun to not shoot over the front cab, i.e. it can only shoot ... until the right barrel hits the (left) C pillar, and to the left barrel hits the right C pillar.

Minimize it's use against infantry and light vehicles, at least minimize it's 'run and gun raiding' use.

Do you mean like, it can only turn about 80 degrees on the yaw, or it is always pointing up on a slight angle?

Yes,
explanation of what a "C pillar" is in a pickup/ute with a crew cab.

So the barrel will hit the C pillar and be blocked from shooting forward, I think you understand my point.

It's just another option.

Is there a tutorial to make a vehicle like this go ingame?

If militia ever got a hold of these or the large ural trucks with the zpu mounted we could finally have an even match with USMC chopper assaulting militia forces ;)

I'd place ZPU4 on Garry's(need to remove orange body) or BigRed's back. IMO tech will roll because of recoil :)

The gun's pivot is over the back axel, so it should do wheelies :P

I think you'll need a different truck. A ZPU-4 combat loaded weighs close to 2000 kg. Hilux can carry maybe 1000 at best under ideal conditions.

the current technical seems too small to fit the ZPU

ZPU-4 mounted on a truck is a better choice.
also looks better imo, already has a heavier handling code, and would also fit easier for Militia imo since they are a bit closer to being conventional than say, the insurgents, could possibly even make it an asset for MEC...but perhaps not
