By FOV, I mean you see more of the gun

I don't think so it's possible since the aim of PR is giving every player the same chance of winning/loosing, so fair-play is intended (since u can have advantages with another POV).

Well obviously FOV's can be changed but they set values - not changeable without a md5 kick.

With that said, I think it would be possible to have a customizable fov with some allowances(allowing the md5). Not really clue-ed up on the area though.

There used to be this BF2 widescreen fixer, which could change the FOV on the fly. Didn't get kicked by PB back then, don't know how it's now.

The functionality of the widescreen fixer has afaik been implemented into BF 1.5.
Not sure on this though, since I hadn't had a widescreen back then.

I always presumed that if you had a widescreen it increased your FOV. It doesn't stretch the 4:3, it adds more onto the sides.

i was actually wondering this the other day. on BF3 you can do it, and its down to personal choice, but having changed my POV to 90 on BF3 i hardly notice it at all now and it comes in handy. PR does have a little bit of a restricted POV, it would be brilliant if somebody could experiment.


edit: laterally of course, because one thing im certain of is the animations would have exposed polys on the mottom of the screen where there were shortcuts taken that have lots of clipping and stuff and redoing all the animations is simply impossible

Yes but that wouldn't stop someone from double-applying the widescreenfixer effect to give themselves a higher-than-normal FOV. Last I checked PB doesn't kick for it... I'll have a quick test now.

Hmm, actually bigger FOV would do this game only good - it would increase immersion (people IRL are more aware of their surroundings) - players wont have to do "arcadey" spins with their mouses to get a good view of surroundings.
