Muttrah City INF Layer

Post by PricelineNegotiator »

Played a game of Muttrah INF last night on TG, and many people, including me, were complaining about how unbalanced the INF layer is. I don't think the teams were unbalanced, as this isn't the first time I've had a bad experience on this map.

The US team has way too rapid of deployment time and MEC have no way to counteract their helicopters besides fob built AA sites. This proves especially difficult, as when I was building fobs, I kept making the decision to use the second crate to build an extra fob instead of building an AA site. This isn't really a flaw in my decisions, but it was inherent in the fact that each fob would be down within twenty minutes of it being built. The MEC team is at an extreme disadvantage being given only two logis which have delayed spawns. Since all of our fobs were getting destroyed, and the only ones left were overrun, people were constantly spawning in MEC main and walking to East City. There are several possibly remedies to this:

MEC logis spawn immediately
MEC has 3 logis instead of two
MEC is given an APC to counteract the hueys which should spawn at the beginning-7.62 MTLB is just fine or a BTR
US has one helo at the beginning and the rest are delayed
US has all helo spawns delayed, boats instead just like Op Barracuda

I think at least one of these should be implemented. Muttrah is known for it's solid and balanced gameplay, it should be the same for the infantry layer.

During the C9 practice of this map/layer our US team were able to settle into solid defensive positions on the first flag before MEC had a chance to cap leaving us without logi trucks unable to do anything except defend an uncappable flag until the problem was solved (it was rarely solved out of 5+ deployment exercises). This flag system works well for the asset layers but on the INF layer it is quite unbalanced in favor of the US if you have good pilots and aggressive infantry.
