Teach me about the arty IED kit ...

I haven't had much experience with it so tried it out a few nights ago on Fallujah West.

I laid one down and went back to a cache to rearm the secondary IED.

I then went about 200m away from the originally placed IED and set another one down where I felt a LAV/Humvee would roll through.

I set it and then went onto a roof and overviewed the area and waited patiently about 10 minutes until I lucked out and a LAV rolled right by it. I had my phone in hand and pressed the button and .... NOTHING.

I had the correct IED phone selected and could clearly see it on the ground yet nothing happened. Is there a certain distance I have to be from the IED to make it active? Is there a timer of how long the IED can be placed before it has to be detonated?

On another note, I also placed the pipebomb IED and when I reselect it in my weapon menu, no phone to detonate it is selected, is there something I'm doing wrong when setting it?

It's a bug. Happens when you click your mouse more than once when placing the IED. Click only once and let the animation finish itself.

Place a mine behind a rock, and get ready on the other way to detonate ied if the vehicule choose an over way.

Uh the pipe bombs are anti-infantry and will very little against pretty much any vehicle (It might blow the gunner out if you're lucky).

The Arty IED is the anti-vehicle version and will rape absolutely everything, including well meaning friendlies wandering across the map.

Pipe bombs kill all of the guys in a Land Rover, I know that.

Yep its known bug, try to change kit and back, somethimes help. Yep pipe bomb arent effective just against Armored vihicle, but against humvee, rover uff they are very effective

The pipe bombs are effective on softer targets like logis/transports, they won't blow up vehicles in a single shot but can kill occupants.

Also watch for low flying choppers, you can hurt them very badly.
