[Project] Community PR Video Tutorial

As indicated in the title, I would like to ask if the community would like to do a series of "PR: video Tutorial".

At the moment there are a few video guides to PR, but they?re scattered or 420p or with a bad script, so my Idea would be a Community Official video Tutorial.

The Plan
Fist the community would chose what?s the most important to show/teach, then divide in chapters (ex: Basic, SQLeading, CAS, Trans,?.) , after all this crucial information be gathered a pre-script would be made to make the tutorial good and smooth.
Now that we would know what we want, we would gather videos with quality and informative (real or scenario made), and the final work would be doing the final script, doing the recordings and final assemblages.

Spoiler for Example of chapters:
Chapter 1
Title: Project Reality Tutorial: Basics
  • Explain Co-op & deployment, you need to train;
  • Deviation;
  • Normal Vs Special Kits & Scope vs unscope;
  • Squads, follow your leader;
  • Mumble
Chapter 2
Title: Project Reality Tutorial: Squad Leading
  • Communicating with other Squads;
  • Make your Squad (what kits you need);
  • Flank, don?t use WWII tactics;
  • Etc

Making The videos
As I said the videos could be real or scenario gameplay, different subjects require different approaches, for instance recording "how to laze" can be done in real gameplay but recording "How to revive in a slope" can be better in scenario.

All this recording would be send to me OR to someone that volunteers to do this [due to have more experience or more taste in making videos], then I or (s) he will chose the best clips and assembly.

After the video is ready it will be released in PRIVATE Mode and only a few can see to check and a script is then made.

After merging the audio-recordings with the video, it would be released* to the public world.

*The released rights would be only to those help in the making of the videos and the PR crew itself.




Works Required on this Project
  • See what would be vital to teach to the new players;
  • Gather information of specific subject;
  • Gather Video on specific subject;
  • Doing a final-script to each video;
  • Someone with good English accent and microphone, to do the audio-recordings; (Probably the most important)
  • Someone to do the final assemblage;


Official Chapters/Subjects included on the Series
(Waiting for community Feedback)







So what do think, doable?

Sounds like a great idea. Although it has been tried before.

I'm at work so can't spent too long searching for old threads, but:

I also remember someone, maybe Acemantura, got pretty far into planning this stuff, x-fire group etc.

As far as I know the only stuff that's been finished tend to be individual efforts (i.e. my Sig)

Many tried many failed, the difference in this one would be the fact everyone could help with the footage, script and editing (but only 1 or 2 to audio-recording) and not just one people doing everything.

db's chanel is, if I not mistaken, only gameplays the idea would be doing what PR team did to Arma 2 but for BF2 :P R like [R-DEV]Spush said.




Well I heard already a few complaints about the new player base that I was hoping a little more enthusiasm by the community, I guess like Wicca said I need to contact the PRTA.

If somebody writes a basic script, we can then all edit it and improve it. Then a series of short movies is shot. Short movies, because not all palyers need all the infro from one long movie, so splitting up into reasonable ammounts is good.

Im up for helping with editing the script/being an actor.

Project Reality Tutorial: The Basics

Major Game Modes
  • Talking about the 2 major game mode, insurgency and AAS;
  • Explain, in AAS, the defend/attack marker and the order of flags;
  • Explain, in insurgency, the Know/Unknow marker, the intel points.
Navigation
  • Explain, top is North, left is West, right is East, down is south;
  • Explain the precision of the compass
  • Explain the grid references (including phonetic alphabet)
Mumble
  • Explain the local and Sq. Channel.
  • Explain the overlay
Kits
  • Explain Normal/special kits;
  • Explain Civilian kit and ROE rules;
  • Refer that like vehicles, special kits must be only used only when yoo know how to use; (End explaining CO-OP mode)
Project Reality Tutorial: The Battlefield

  • Explain the FOB and it assets (mortars, TOW, .50Cal, Wire, foxhole);
  • Explain the concept of overrun Fob;
  • How to destroy enemy fob;

I remember there are some landing and taking off tutorials, I could make some if they aren't high enough definition or quality. They were quite useful to me when I first started playing PR, so they might be fine.

I did try this before and I was bogged down.too heavily with real life obligations and those that did offer support had similar reasons every time I had the time, lol, I even built a computer and bought software for this project.

If you want the XFire group and the PRTutorials youtube channel, pm me, id be more than happy to hand them over to a person who is capable.
