MD5 Tool mismatch: mods\pr\serverarchives.con (Len=2048)

Post by JTFARockz »

Today I have been training on =MERK= UK Heli/Jet Training server, I would be in my jet flying around (Getting hit by friendly AA :p ) Dropping GBU's all over the place, firing some missiles and getting some lock on missiles to blow a jet out of the sky. But then all of a sudden I would disconnect with the message - MD5 Tool mismatch: mods\pr\serverarchives.con (Len=204 8) - I really hate it when I am about to shoot a chopper/jet out of the air then I disconnect, I really want to become a CAS pilot but I can't do it with this happening :p

Info

It just started today around 3:00 EST (It may have come into affect last night or today). I have fixed other MMd5 or PB errors that have been happening a while back (Have been clean for about 2-3 weeks.

Would love some help from the Admins, love PR and can't wait for more fun in the (hopefully) PR v1.0 =D

Is this happening on all maps or just this particular one? This is not official PR map, its a community made map. You might have wrong version of it.

Check if you have this kick on other servers too.

Ill attach this file so you can download and replace it if you get a kick cause it again.

Which AV software do you have? KIS and NIS/NAV can pickup false positives so if you have any of those disable Sonar/Heuristic detection system.

Extract this to /mods/pr/ and overwrite

I do have KIS (Kaspersky Internet Security) And where do I find this Sonar/Heuristic system and I am guessing when you say "extract this and overwrite" you mena I place it in /mods/pr/ and just replace the other file?

Yes replace the file but check if youre getting kick on other server too for the same file.

I dont have KIS to help you with that. Look for Sonar or early detection system/heuristic in options for AV.

Also check your quarantine. If you see any files from BF2 or PR folders restore them and add them to whitelist.

I do have PR Map pack in my quarantine, could that also have affected my Test Airfield? I will re-install the, I got it from a link on a site I found so there is a good chance that it is a bad one :-p

Its probably not bad its your AV that's causing trouble. As I said it has been reported in the past that KAV/KIS or NIS/NAV can quarantine some of the game files, even though they are clean.

If you want to be sure download map pack again and disable your AV while installing and definitely disable heuristic detection or you will have problems with MD5 if some of the files are missing or even CTD in some cases.

Official downloads for PR:BF2 here.

Please tell us the exact version of Kapersky you are using.

Here is the tutorial to turn Heuristics on and off in Kapersky 2010:
Using heuristic analysis in Kaspersky Internet Security 2010

I'm not sure how much the user interface has changed in last two years, but it should be similar.
