[Solved] Mumble, Y U NO LET ME START PR
Hello,
Well when i turn on mumble and then start up PR, it shows the little screen and enters the game, but crashes and stays a black screen before it gets to the the BSS trademark vids. So I exited out of Mumble and it starts up with nothing wronng, and going straight to menu like it should. Why does this happen?
EDIT: I should mention this, With the overlay off - it runs pr, With overlay on - Its crashes

Start PRMumble, go to configure->settings, click on the Overlay tab in left column.
You need to move the overlay to the middle of the screen, if you set the overlay beyond the resolution you use in PR it will crash.
i.e. you set the overlay to 1920x1080 and it is displaying in top right corner,
however PR is running at 1440x900 and that means the PRMumbler overlay is off the screen.
SO, place the overlay in the dead middle of the screen,
THEN start PR,
then alt-tab out of BF2
R and go back to the PRMumble overlay tab and adjust the overlay location as you see fit.

I have the same problem, and the above solution does not work. It is blackscreen without Fxaa injector and error message after deleting Fxaa injector.
My PC has Nvidia GeForce GT540M, by the way.
Should I have updated graphics driver?

Save your overlay in PRMumble.
Then go to this thread and download one of the overlays in the first post.
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... ricks.html
Install one of those overlays inside PRMumble.
See if that helps?

Still blackscreen only.
Is this only a 64bit OS thing?

22cal and ComradeHX,
Did either of you delete the intro movies?
Can you please post give your systems specs, especially your video card, your video card drivers, and your OS, and if OS is 32 or 64 bit.
ATM , I am stumped as to why this is happening, ...

re: [Solved] Mumble, Y U NO LET ME START PR
Sorry this post might not be helpful:
I had this problem once and sorry but I don't remember how I fixed it. If anything, I think it fixed itself when I reformatted my computer and I believe that was before the new mumble.
Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling mumble and follow https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... rking.html
Also, you need the intro videos for PR. Last I checked, Battlefield 2/PR will not be linked with mumble unless you have the intro videos.

re: [Solved] Mumble, Y U NO LET ME START PR
Well Found the Culprit. It was MSI Afterburner 2.2.0 BETA. I Downloaded it yesterday and thats when the overlay problem began. I had the old MSI Afterburner(Mumble Overlay worked fine), but the beta was the only one with video recording, and I just got into recording PR and putting it on youtube. If any of you know how to allow Mumble overlay and MSI Afterburner 2.2.0 BETA to work together properly, I would much appreciate it.

re: [Solved] Mumble, Y U NO LET ME START PR
AFAIK, MSI Afterburner 2.2.0 BETA is partially blacklisted by Punkbuster. Massive has the details, I don't use Afterburner
AFAIK< You need at least Beta 9, with this compatibility mode selected:
Added new compatibility option allowing using protected kernel mode low-level access to hardware instead of user mode one. This option can also be used to bypass Punkbuster related stability issues

I use MSI Afterburner 2.1.0 and all overlays work fine for me. Just be careful how you setup riva tuner OSD server, or it will cause issues with PB.
Currently MSI Afterburner OSD, Mumble overlay, Fraps, Xfire...all working without problems.
Always remember that new software version does not mean its better from previous one.

Well, I am not using any software that might have similar effect.
Could it be that I am setting something wrong in nvidia control panel?

ComradeHX, some questions for you,
1. Does regular BF2 single player work? Does regular BF2 multiplayer work?
2. Have you tried resetting you nVidia control panel options to default?
3. If regular BF2 works, go to the options menu and lower your graphics settings, join a MP server to test. Then close and start PR to test.
4. Might want to try to start PR in windowed mode, it might help...
In your shortcuts 'target' window cut and paste this If your running Vista/W7 Adjust this to your installation location!!:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" start +fullscreen 0

Reset to default options does not work.
PR was in window mode when tried the above; also did not work.

You solved it for me, I checked out riva tuner and I looked at stealth mode(it was on) and I turned it off and it bypassed allowing mumble overlay and msi afterburner to work together. Thanks[R-COM]MaSSive wrote:Just be careful how you setup riva tuner OSD server, or it will cause issues with PB.

ComradeHX,
what is the resolution of your laptop?
You can try to manually lower the video.con settings
Search for the file "x:\where you installed it\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Settings\Profiles\Default\video.con" and change with notepad the values to match your screen resolution.
Next, try to do this for the default profile video.con file
Well your monitor might be having problems with a resolution bf2 is trying to put it in.

Know your resolution and your refresh rate, then type that in the Bold part above.video.con:
VideoSettings.setTerrainQuality 3
VideoSettings.setGeometryQuality 3
VideoSettings.setLightingQuality 1
VideoSettings.setDynamicLightingQuality 3
VideoSettings.setDynamicShadowsQuality 0
VideoSettings.setEffectsQuality 3
VideoSettings.setTextureQuality 3
VideoSettings.setTextureFilteringQuality 3
VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@70Hz
VideoSettings.setAntialiasing 2Samples
VideoSettings.setViewDistanceScale 1
VideoSettings.setVideoOptionScheme 3

then try to run vanilla BF2.Go into your bf2 install folder and get your video.con file.
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Local\Default
First make a back up of video.con somewhere.
Find the line
"game.setGameDisplayMode 800 600 32 0" and replace with your monitors native resolution.
For example:
game.setGameDisplayMode 1280 1024 32 0

re: [Solved] Mumble, Y U NO LET ME START PR
My optimal resolution is 1366x768; that might be a problem.
Changed everything(including profiles in my document/battlefield2/profiles) to 800x600 and still did not work.
