[Solved] game doesn't work after the icon is displayed

hey,My friend formatted his computer and when trying to connect to the game, he sees only the icon of the game and then it disappears and nothing happens.
Anyone have a solution?

Make sure the video resolutions are correct.
WinXP/7/maybe vista
go to the battlefeild 2 folder in documents, go to profiles

open a folder, you will see a load of txt files, open the one called "Video" in notepad.

you will see a few lines of "code"
one line will say "VideoSettings.setResolution" the number after this is what you need to change.

Change the number to your screen resolution and also make sure the refresh rate (@**Hz, * = number)


Do this to all the folders, then try it again.

Start Bf2 -->login with your account --> close bf2 ---> start PR again

BF2 has to manually create the profile files in the my documents folder; this is done by logging into your account in vanilla BF2. For some reason it doesn't work for PR.

Anyways, just log in once in BF2 and exit again. PR will then work properly.

Also, I see he is using Steam to play BF2...
