Hello everyone,

so, I have decided to finally build my new computer, but since I don?t know very much about computers, I want your opinion about the components I have chosen...

Remember, I wan?t to build a computer complety from scratch, I?m not looking to replace computer parts...

What I really wan?t, is that you tell me if the components I have chosen work together or not...

Money, in this case, is not an issue... If i don?t have enough, I just have to wait a little bit more...

Gaspar..do you play Age of Empires on GameRanger?

Those are pretty good specs, I have the same mobo and processor. I recommend a 6870 or 6850, pretty cheap and effective. Slap in a cheap $20 optical drive and anything over 650W should be fine to handle all of your stuff. Have you thought about a case?

Perhaps a bit more RAM? Like 6 or 8 Gigs. I currently play with 4gb and sometimes it doesn't quite cut it for me on high graphics. For a decent graphics card, the newest ATI Radeon HD 7970 is a beast; however it is quite expensive. An ATI Radeon HD 5k or 6k series would probably suit you better.

About the graphics card, I will take a while until I can afford one, so, it will probably be the last thing I?ll buy...

I?m thinking on an NVidia graphics card, people say that it?s the best in what comes to gaming...

Computer case, yes, I have thought on that, and i do know that it has to be a ATX form factor...

Power Supply, you said "above 650W should be fine", that means that my computer will spend quite s bit of power right?

What's you budget for the build? You could copy someone's build and that would save the guessing game trouble. I have a friend that is going to build one for around $900.

Yes, and it if you get the parts along the lines of what massive listed (which most of those are in the link that I put) you should be able to play most of the newer games out on medium/high graphics.

Yeah, Massive listed some ways to save money. Would go along those lines if I were you. I can play at about 90-100 frames at highest settings in PR @ 1680x1050 with my rig.

But again, are you totally sure those components will give me the same specs for less money? I just want to be sure about everything before spending my money... I worked a lot for it...

Hi Gaspar,
Good to see you got to the point to build this PC ,

In my opinion, the CPU you are looking at is not the best bang for your buck right now IF gaming is the primary reason for building the PC.

You chose this:

I would suggest:
AMD Phenom II X4 975 Black Edition Deneb 3.6GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Desktop Processor HDZ975FBGMBOX
or
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition
or
AMD Phenom II X4 970 Black Edition
depending on your local availability.

You have to ask yourself how long you expect to use this PC, the AM3+ FX CPUS are not optimized, they simply do not beat the older AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition CPUs when comparing performance in gaming.

If however you expect to someday buy a FX6100 or FX8100 series CPU to upgrade, then consider buying the AM3+ motherboard and the AMD AM3 Phenom II X4 Black Edition CPU. This way if AMD optimizes the FX CPUs, you can simply buy one later and use your same motherboard.

Also, keep in mind you will need to buy some thermal paste, a DVD drive, and a copy of Windows. Make sure you budget for this.

Are you buying at a local shop or from a online shop?
If buying online, post the websites you are going to buy from,

Well, I?m buying all my parts online at Newegg.com - Computer Parts, Laptops, Electronics, HDTVs, Digital Cameras and More!, people say it is a very good online store, with tons of choices to go, and not so high prices...

The first motherboard I choose was an Biostar (something) AM3+, so, it should be good to do what your saying about the processor...

One thing, I know that buying all parts at the same time, would be the best, so that we can test if they work or not, but would there be a problem if i buy like 5 things first and then the rest? I don?t have all the money...

Also, LITOralis.nMd, could you give a overral "picture" of what your saying? Put all together so that i can see your point, but i think i got it...

I?m not going to rush thing before i have 100% confidence that i?m doing everything right, that?s why i?m asking all this question, so sorry if you?re bored with this...

Yes, they will be compatible. Also, you can get the FX-4100 (I have the 8150), but I do agree with litoralis on this. Go with the Phenom II since it is more mature and works better with gaming.

I looked and didn't see any Newegg international site. You can use a forwarding address site.

Okay, so how these work are they set you up with a permanent US address. When you order from somewhere like Newegg, you ship to that address. That company will compile all of your packages then ship them to you overseas (for weight reasons and it'll save you a few bucks). The reason Newegg doesn't ship internationally is due to technology export shipping prices.
